Stayed at Satara on two occasions from the 09/02- 11/02 and 26/02-01/03. The room was well maintained and well serviced. The camp is well maintained stayed in two different rooms and was impressed with both, the staff was friendly and met the camp manager who was doing his rounds to check the work that was done in the camp. The...

Nice restaurant choices, comfortable beds, cozy outdoor seating, well stocked store. Loved the morning Safari walk! The guides were very knowledgeable. ATM only works for SA bank cards. AC did not work in room.

One of the best camps in Kruger. Nicely situated in the middle, so there is many different options and routes to drive. Some of the best routes also in close proximety, so you will never run out of options. Love their caravan park. Try to get a stand close to the fence. Always a winner at night time when hyenas...

We had a rondavel on the perimeter #171. Right next to the fence. It was set forward a bit so no view of neighbours. We had various animals at the fence all night. What a treat. Room is rustic but clean. In need of an upgrade, its been like this since the 60's. The pool was filthy though... needs some...

Satara is one of our favourite rest camps in Kruger and always book in the BD2V bungalows as these offer a view put into the surrounding bush. I would recommend any of the units G161-G167 as these have the closest position to the fence and the hyenas walk past within meters of our unit. The units are slowly looking tired...

Love the huts accommodation and very clean and tidy room upon check in. Roads get dark after sunset with not much street lights *advisable to use torch light* Personal parking space for cars beside your hut. Souvenir shop and restaurants located next to the reception

A really lovely peaceful place to stay. Rondavels clean and neat. Staff very friendly. Only complaint is that the gardens not very well kept. Grass a bit long and thorny. Shop well stocked ang not too expensive for day to day items. Hope to be back.

Previously stayed at Frankle guesthouse which is stunning and clean. This is the first time we've stayed in "Stanley" Guesthouse and we have a somewhat mixed review. The house itself is beautiful as is the location, right on the fence and quite close to a watering hole. Unfortunately the kitchen was infested with cockroaches and the bathrooms with some other...

The check in was interesting..... we were early so we had to check to see if the cottage was ready, and then go back and collect our keys. I guess that was better than having to wait. We didn't have a kettle so had one delivered. This shorted the whole cottage. Eventually the problem was sorted out. Our cottage was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion. ... more   less
