Travelling from Cape Town, to Phalaborwa and direct from there to Polokwane for 27 hours is no pleasure at all. We arrived in Polokwane about 22:30 and was looking for decent accommodation, affordable but still of good quality. Im honest to say that I do not agree with the other reviews on this page, as I had a different experience....

I booked a room. Upon arrival staff were loud and clearly upset in a room next to reception. I got the feeling the receptionist were slightly irritated as I asked her to prepare an invoice for me so that u could pay them. She made a point to tell me that when my wife made the booking on my behalf...

Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are neat but basic, fine for just sleeping over one night. No aircon in the room I stayed in. When I read the previous ratings before I checked in I hoped the torn towels a few people commented on would have been replaced but they were still there. Breakfast was really good.

Very basic rooms, but at least there is DSTV and air conditioning. Bathrooms are okay, except for the torn towels. On the other hand, staff is very friendly and the facilities like the bar and pool area as well as their meals are excellent. With a bit of room upgrades and new linen and towels, this place would be perfect!

A colleague and I were booked each with our own room into this establishment for 3 nights. Owner Basil, (no relation to Mr Fawlty!) makes guests feel welcome and is in attendance early at breakfast which is the usual more than adequate English-style. A selection of teas, coffees and Milo are provided at a self-help counter. If required, eggs, made to...

This place is my home from home when I conduct training in Limpopo, so I stay longer than two days at a time. It it always pleasant and peaceful and the staff are friendly and helpful. Meals and rooms measure up well for a three star place: large enough rooms for a single person or even a couple and tasty,...

The room that I had was jus so small with a three quarter bed. The towels were not new and were not fresh smelling. The facilities were good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Well on the whole except for the room it was a good stay.

Marlot guest house was able to accommodate us when our usual lodge was fully booked. The staff were lovely, and helped us when we were in a pickle. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but neat and tidy.

“All accomodation in a quiet street is at the rear of the main building at ground level with shade-cloth parking outside the 20-odd rooms. The complex is accessed via a remote-controlled sliding gate with a watchman in attendance at night. Various eateries, hotels and shopping malls, one with cinemas are within a 5 km radius. More detail can be found via google search engine.”
