We recently visited the Kruger and stayed at the Protea Hotel in Hazyview. We had made a reservation for a junior suite a few weeks in advance and received our booking confirmation. Upon arrival we were told our suite was no longer available as it had been given to guests who checked in a day before us. There were also...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in March and this was by far the nicest Protea Hotel out of those we stayed at (We also stayed at Protea Victoria Junction in Capetown and Protea Umfolozi River in Richards Bay). By comparison, the rooms were much larger, the property was much nicer, and the meals were better. The hotel...

I was here as part of the tour group to Kruger Park. The room was spacious but looked a little bit outdated. Wifi was only in the bar area - so that was inconvenient. Dinner and breakfast buffet were the best out of all tour hotels we stayed. They have plenty of options for vegetarians, too. The staff were attentive,...

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a two week tour. On arrival the hotel had experienced a 12 hour electricity cut. Given the circumstances, they did well to provided dinner! Our room (40) was in the main building and overlooked a grass area. It was large and clean with all the usual amenities. However, it seemed quite...

In 2003 we stayed here for the first time. So after 13 years we where anxious if it was still ok. After a 500km ride in a Land Rover Defender diesel we recognized the road and after that the securitygate. No changes there. Still a very friendly lady behind the desk.
