Talamati is a special place in Africa. The accommodation is not modern but you will find everything you need and more. The beds are extremely comfortable and the linen a high quality. The kitchen is well equipped. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the game viewing from the hide is simply amazing. You do not need a car. You can... More

Camp layout a bit strange, your are looking to the back of your neighbour bungalow. At least they eliminated the windows of the sleeping rooms towards your neighbour in the renovation which recently took place. Plenty of room in the bungalows, nice veranda. Monkeys and baboons are a pest, always close your sliding door (also because rodents and snakes may... More

Small, private camp. Very laid back. Kitchen well kitted. No shop, but they do sell ice and fire wood. Otherwise come prepared. Crazy dry at the moment. Actually very sad. The hide was pretty full in the evening. Had it all to ourselves the next morning. Wish that more of Kruger was like this. Actually felt like we were in... More

This camp is totally self catering so bring everything with you. The houses are very comfortable with all your pots and pans etc. There is a wonderful hide at the gate that is in safe walking distance from your house that has a big spotlight so you can get some wonderful night viewing as well. The monkeys are a bit... More

Compared to the other camps in Kruger the accommodation offered in Talamati is far superior. What this camp has going for it is its isolation. There is no shop so bring all your own provisions. Don't forget to bring a torch as the walk to the hide is very dark. The sounds of the bush at night in this camp... More

We absolutely love Talamati bush camp. There are pros and cons like any place... cons are that there is no signal at all (you have to drive about 60 min to get cellphone reception) but it does mean you get a proper break from the world..another con is that it is quite remote so it does take a while to... Last year visiting Talamati was a highlight of Kruger NP, but not this time. We did see 2 white rhino just inside Orpen Gate, and others on road S140 and S36, but the resident leopard has gone and few animals were visiting the dam. This year the dam did have a Hippo. Saw only 3 elephant visiting the dam in... More

Loved the well appointed bungalows and quiet of the bush. A hide over the floodlit waterhole with elephants coming down to drink after dark was a reward A good red next to the braai listening to the night sounds - does it get any better ? Clean , well maintained and comfortable

We changed our minds and entered the park through Kruger Gate instead of Orpen Gate and were delighted to see the Big 5 on the drive to Talamati. Not that we aimed to do that - we are grateful for all and any game or birds that we see along the way! There was a friendly efficient welcome to Talamati... More

Talamati has to be the jewel of the Kruger. A peaceful and quiet camp. The chalets are very clean and comfortable. Well worth a visit. There is a little hide where you can watch the wildlife come and drink at the waterhole and squirrels amuse you with their antics as you sit and enjoy morning coffee on the patio.
