Very nice lodge with a beautiful tropical garden. Well situated in the center but nevertheless very quiet. At night you have a romantic sound of the frogs. Comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Umlilo Lodge - the staff are very friendly and helpful. They were able to organize plenty of activities for us within the area which we thoroughly enjoyed. The room was very spacious and there were plenty of places to relax within the lodge.

We were lucky enough to spend four nights here on a month-long tour of South Africa. St. Lucia is beautiful and if we are able to return this is where we'll base out of. Family-owned and operated, Laurens and Charles (father and son) are great hosts and breakfast chefs. Rooms are comfortable, hot water hit and miss (as with lots...

Lovely design within a pseudo jungle setting. The breakfast was fantastic and the hosts were very helpful. Located next door to a restaurant and within walking distance of the main town of St Lucia. Just a very relaxing place with the wonderful sounds if frigs and a running creek

My review from two years ago is still valid, since our group of 12 from the USA just stayed here again - and loved it! So, read on.... This place is almost perfect! Almost. You cannot possibly beat the friendliness of the owners, their zeal to make you comfortable, and their willingness to help. Furthermore, the atmosphere outside the rooms,...

Great location and lovely rooms, complimentary toiletries and hairdryers provided. Warm welcome from Charles, very large and comfortable rooms. Great breakfasts. The owners provided great information about what to do and also booked excursions for us. Also made great restaurant recommendations for dinner. Would definitely return

Situated within convenient walking distance to town, you are transported to another world when you walk through the door. Rooms are very well equiped with aircon, a fridge, and nice linen. There is a cosy and beautiful lounge with an honesty bar, and the...

This was my second stay at the lodge. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool glorious, and the owners, Lorens and Elphia are effortlessly kind and helpful. Recommend the hippo cruise (I went twice) booked with Heritage Tours. Umlilo is unique, charming and I will be back in a few months for sure.
