We complained to the waiter - then the restaurant manager that the dining area was too hot(supper). We were sitting right next to a screen of glass doors leading to a patio overlooking the gardens. We were told that the doors could not be opened as patrons often abscond without payment......? And that if the air-conditioning was switched on we...

Dear Otto, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor after your recent stay with us. I must apologise for any discomfort caused during dinner. The Airconditioning unit is due for replacement as it is rather old and has a tendancy of making noise when initially swithced on. The issue with the doors is purely from...

Dear Bertilo, Thank you for taking the time to post comments on Tripadvisor after your stay with us. GUEST feedback is very important to measure how we are performing. On the rate issue hotels operate on a similar basis to airlines where at the last minute we will reduce rates to drive occupancy rather than be left with empty rooms....

Dear Dusty M, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor after your recent stay with us. You are quite correct in stating that all the hotels are owned by one company, however some are fairly new builds, where as the Winkler, a recent acquisition of Premier Hotels & Resorts, is almost 50 years old. During...

We spent three nights at this nice and interesting hotel. The entrance, lobby, and dining room are situated in a "Zulu roundoval" shaped building with a sharp conus top. Our stay here was the basis for a Kruger park safari, but, unfortunately, during the first two days an unexpected downpour made the safari not too enjoyable , nor could we...

The location of the Winkler is perfect for car enthusiasts as the surrounding area offers amazing mountain roads with great Scenery. The Winker has good parking, and arrangements were made with the bar so that we could buy bottles of whisky at a reduced price.
