Accommodation is in units spread over a large, leafy garden in suburban Kimberley, a few kilometres from the city centre and the Big Hole. The room we had was on the luxurious side of adequate, clean, quiet and comfortable - really a nice place to stay. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate, and the staff was very friendly and...

Our family of three and our small dog were comfortable enough in a spacious, comfortable semi-self catering garden unit. The small kitchen area offers a small fridge and microwave oven. Outside is a communal swimming pool and a barbeque area for guests to use. There is also a lovely, restful, shady garden that offers respite from the December heat. A...

We had been booked to stay at another venue just outside Kimberley and were very disappointed and decided to move after just one night. Pat very kindly juggled bookings and we we spent 11 nights at 5 Acres. And Pietra took excellent care of us. Our rooms were small but quite adequate and comfortable. We loved the gardens and bird...

The room was very comfortable and spacious and had a great bed. The breakfast was great - on time and more than enough to eat. The problems were the very noisy geyser and the shower that almost overflowed because it was blocked.

Room One is definitely not worth a four star rating. Carpet has marks, bathroom door closes with difficulty is dirty and old. Room is dated, as are tiles in bathroom. Bedding seemed to be clean. Other rooms seemed to be up to the rating. The garden is really beautiful. Pity we can't say the same for room number one. Room...

This wonderful guest house was a great place to spend a few nights whilst visiting friends and family. The pictures on Trip Advisor are very outdated, so do yourself a favour and look at the guest house's web page for a more up to date overview of this little piece of paradise in the Northern Cape. The rooms are very...

After a long drive from Cape Town, the warm and friendly welcome from our informative host was just what was needed. The rooms are situated in tranquil leafy open surroundings with parking next to the room. The rooms are comfortable, cosy and well equipped with all you need. We were only overnighting buy I would recommend 5 Acres for a...

Warm reception, good meals, comfortable rooms. Right on a major route and easy to locate on GPS maps. Also prepared for load-shedding. The garden is a relaxing delight, with birds, water-features and lots of trees.

I had a wonderful stay at Five Acres Guesthouse in Kimberley and was warmly welcomed by the hosts. The establishment is situated in a tranquil environment, with manicured lawns as well as an abundance of bird life. Despite me getting lost and arriving late the evening , nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, who were concerned about my...

This was an over-night stop, but would make a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area or just relax between activities. Easy to find, a lovely setting, plenty of privacy, comfortable accommodation, and helpful, friendly and informative hosts. Not all units are kitted out the same way, so make your requirements known when booking. Would definitely stay here...

“All the chalets are situated around the garden, near the swimming pool, and very quiet. Breakfast is available for R70.00 pp if one wants to enjoy a breakfast. We prefer to have our coffee and rusks on the stoep.”
