My husband and I spent a brief night at the Royal Lodge Hotel in Beaufort West; having made an online booking, I was pleased with the regular communication and updates via e-mail, with regard to the status of our booking and their willingness to try and accommodate our specific requirements. The hotel itself has an almost, Old Wild West type...

A Royal stay in a Lodge which resemble the typical country hotel from the 70-80's. Do not expect a modern infrastructure but enjoy the genuine hospitality of the owners and the neatness and cleanliness of the entire place. We will stay there again.

The room was close to a disco and to the main street. We could not sleep. The Hotel also took @ R50 key deposit which they did not return on our departure. I also think the hotel is really over priced.

I overnighted here for one night on my way through Beaufort West. Looked really nice from the outside, but the room was tiny - given what I'd paid at other places also not good value for money. I had arrived a bit late (around 8pm) - was asked if I wanted dinner, which I did and the kitchen was evidently...

This was purely an overnight rest stop, so we did not have great expectations. However, there is a world of difference between what their website advertises, and the reality. The restaurant and bar was not functioning; the room was very basic, clean, but very tired, and the mattresses obviously well worn. There are much better options in this small Karoo...

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The hotel is very old fashioned, but super clean. The room was spacious enough for our toddler to enjoy and the staff were very friendly. We also had dinner at the restaurant and it was wonderful. A starter of soup, a main of mutton chops and vegetables and a dessert of Malva pudding was...
