While it was a large room, it was simply a large room with a slightly odd layout and the general feeling that the place was just a little odd. Check in was smooth. Nicely located hotel with good views of the cape and city. Nice menu for breakfast. All expected amenities for 5* hotel. Would consider staying here and checking out other properties in area also.

Taj brand is pretty well known luxury brand, and the one in Cape Town doesn't disappoint. 5 star all around. First, location. Cape Town doesn't seem like a walking city unless at the Waterfront, and that limits location a bit. The hotel is downtown, so there isn't that much that is close by, IMO. Have to take a car everywhere,...

The Taj is centrally located in the Downtown Business area. It is convenient (easy walking distance) to many Museums, St George's Cathedral, the Parliament Building. Friendly staff members are very attentive and provide excellent service. A very welcoming place.

Both are warm and welcoming and serve outstanding cuisine. Alongside this you'll find wonderful Champagne and tapas bar known as The Twankey Bar which is exceedingly popular with both locals and guests alike.
