Having been on safari in Botswana and seeing four of the Big 5, it seemed a little like cheating seeing the fifth here, as it's really not much more than a glorified zoo. But that shouldn't take away from it. The animals have acres of space to roam, though you're not going to see lions mauling a gazelle as they're...

We stayed two nights but would recommend only one, as there is little to do during the day, unless you are happy to sit by the pool all day. We had 3 game drives (missed the early morning on the second day) and saw 4 of the big 5 in the park, with one more in the rescue centre. The...

Firstly, not many animals in the reserve, just 2 elephants and 2 giraffes. Not money's worth, expensive for service / safari experienced. Could be a lot better. Good for young children or maybe a day's trip.

I was dissapointed by the safari. The park is not big, we passed the main building 4 times. The lions are seperated from the other animals, so they must feed them. We didn't see any lions. But later you go to this 'rescue part' where you can see 2 lions and 2 leopards behind a fence. I went to a...

We booked a two night getaway to Aquila this last weekend. Family were out from the UK and it was a very special occasion. We were two families of four and granny. We informed the booking team (clearly a call centre) of this, but no special treatment. We arrived to find that we had been booked into an apartment block...

Very overpriced. Definitely not a 4 star lodge. I felt like I stayed in a 2 star log cabin. The floor boards creak like crazy. We have a baby and it was a complete nightmare to try not wake the baby up. There was no phone in our room so we had to walk to reception everytime to ask a...

We did the overnight safari, found Aquila easily from George. Arrived at 11.30 lunch was OK but I have had better and I don't like meat on the bone so it was veggies for me! The first think that shocked me was the size of the restaurant, I wasn't expecting so many people. The game drive didn't leave until 4.40,...

We made a very last minute decision to go away for 1 night over the Easter weekend. I booked 2 rooms - adjoining for ourselves (2 adults) and our two children for the self-drive overnight safari full-board package. The package cost ZAR10,360.00 It took us only 2hrs drive from Somerset West in Cape Town. The 2hr drive is beautiful and...

We travelled for almost 3 hours from Southern suburbs in Cape Town. Just beautiful scenery so cameras ready. Brochure not correct as it says its much closer. We had a coupon from child magazine but it is quite steep normally. Welcome drinks on arrival which was refreshing. Reception area a bit chaotic and needs organising and training of staff. We...
