Our third stay at The Cape Grace was again excellent: Apart from the great location and the well-equipped and well-maintained rooms, it is the friendliness of the staff that really stands out. Thanks to the entire team, in particular Aidan and the concierge team, the super staff at the bar and the friendly doormen, for making us feel welcome and special. We will be glad to return to the Cape Grace for our next stay in Cape Town.
The best hotel in Africa, this is a top notch, high quality establishment, run by a dedicated and empathetic team. They cannot do enough for you and go the extra mile, day in day out. Whether it’s the room cleaners, the fabulously enthusiastic breakfast team, the concierge or the guys on the front door, everyone is happy, smiley and committed to making your stay the best. Outstanding location, brilliant bar and cellar, run by a super team too and just an all round perfect stay. Immense.
Our family of six (including four young adults) were at the Cape Grace for four nights over New Years and found it to be an exceptional experience. All three of our rooms were top-notch quality, comfort, and cleanliness, and expansive enough for older siblings to share comfortably. And the service was consistently exceptional for all of us. Even the one small hiccup - when one of the door locks failed to unlock - was dealt with swiftly, efficiently, and non-disruptively. Its location in the V&A Waterfront provided tons of options for easy nearby meals, and for solo wandering and exploring during the days.
A lovely hotel. Don't know if we got upgraded but our room was one of the best I've been in and the largest; it was probably a corner room. Had everything. Breakfast was good. We ate in the restaurant which I enjoyed but my wife didn't; too many flunkies doing nothing, weird menu, duck was tough. I do agree however that there was no atmosphere at all in the restaurant. Staff all excellent and friendly.
Spent a week at the Cape Grace, at the beginning of December. An absolutely beautiful stay. All the staff were so wonderful and delightful and so welcoming. The room was fantastic, The breakfast was wonderful, almost anything you could wish for.
This place is truly going downhill. I’ve frequented it for meals so many times I cannot remember. Now, despite living at the apartments on the doorstep one is not welcome to drop in to eat there. They’ve instructed the doormen to turn people away and only allow hotel guests. In what world does this management live that they refuse people to visit their restaurants that are so empty it will probably eventually have to shut down. Prior to Covid we visited the Library for tea and meals 3 times a week on our extended stay in CT. During Covid they were probably the last hotel to open and now they turn away customers. Avoid this hotel at all costs. The atmosphere is dreadful as it’s lost its vibrancy in turning people away.
A really lovely hotel in a great location on the waterfront. We stayed here for 2 nights and would highly recommend it. The hotel is extremely well appointed and comfortable. The staff were so helpful and really went out of their way to offer that extra level of service. Would not hesitate to recommend if in Cape Town.
Beautiful hotel in Cape Town near the waterfront and Table mountain. The rooms were luxurious and the staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay special. The food at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was amazing and very tasty as well.
Had a brief stay between safari lodges and was exactly what the doctor ordered. The facility is immaculate and the service is on par with the best hotels in the world. Staff constantly ensure that you get any assistance necessary without being overbearing or upselling. The room was beautiful and had a stunning view of the harbor and table mountain. Breakfast is great, only outdone by the whiskey bar with literally hundreds of whiskey and scotch offerings. Food was excellent as well. Highly recommended for a Cape Town adventure.
We enjoyed our stay at Cape Grace in Cape Town so much! It’s definitely our favorite hotel stay ever! Everything from the accommodations, the food, the staff was just perfection! The location near the waterfront made it so easy to have access to so much just by walking. The concierges handle everything from booking tours to transportation & everything in between. If you’re fortunate enough to consider this hotel, please book it! You will love every moment of your stay!
