Having stayed at this hotel several times over the years we are always very impressed on our return. This year was no exception, our junior suite was upgraded to a full suite which was beautiful. The staff as ever were amazing, nothing was a problem. Already looking forward to our return next year.

To me, offering a breakfast buffet with almost everything from a large plate of oysters down to a jar of smarties or a Maserati Quattroporte available as a hotel car are not the trappings which make a hotel 5 star, to me, it’s cleanliness, efficiency and small gestures of customer care and kindness which make a place 5 star. I’ve...

When l go to a highly priced establishment l expect nothing but excellence. The Belmond Mount Nelson is a beautiful colonial building surrounded by extremely groomed lavish gardens, an oasis in the historic center of Cape Town. During our stay everything was almost perfect: booking was easy, the staff mostly friendly and helpful, the food excellent, the spa is so...

Just the entrance & short tree lined drive up to the splendid old colonial building is enough to make you realise you are coming to somewhere special! We went there for the ( expensive-particularly by South African standards!) special tea( you will have to book). And special it was- a pianist playing beautifully inside the numerous range f different teas...

If your busy Cape Town sightseeing schedule won’t allow the couple of leisure hours that high tea (tea and a superabundance of finger sandwiches, cakes, petits-fours, fresh fruits and other small delights) at the Mount Nelson Hotel deserves (or if you just want to avoid the caloric intake it involves), here’s an alternative: take a taxi (cheap in Cape Town,...

We absolutely love your description of taking Mount Nelson Blend tea with home-made malva pudding at our hotel. Thank you so much.

This hotel is great for business trip and business events however barely spending time in such an elegant, welcoming and comfortable hotel ambience after long days of meetings and events made me really want to come back and enjoy it fully. This is a quite big hotel with very professional and welcoming staff. From the hotel drivers who are always...

Thank you so much for your lovely long and detailed review. We are delighted that you were so happy with your stay and we really do hope you will return again, at leisure and not on business, so that you can savour the ambience to the maximum.

The hotel is majestic in every way , classy and luxurious leave with a friendly team to match it all. The food is really exquisite and breakfast menu rich and varied. Only drawback is that the location is a bit far from the waterfront 10 minutes by car taking traffic into account

Thank you so much for your lovely review of our hotel, our friendly staff and the "exquisite" food.

The public areas of the hotel are beautifully landscaped and generally lovely (despite the size of the place and labyrinth floor plan). The staff is friendly and helpful; breakfasts were wonderful. But, our room was very small; we found someone else's soiled underwear in a drawer; we had coffee and cups but no coffee maker; then the next day we...

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and for your compliments on the property, as well as our staff and the delicious breakfasts. Please would you accept our sincere apologies for the haphazard housekeeping service you experienced. We did have a couple of group bookings in February however guests generally find that the layout of the hotel...

Please do come and stay with us next time ; ) Thank you for your lovely review - we must admit that enjoying delicious food and bubbles on our outdoor terrace overlooking the hotel gardens has to be one of the more enjoyable and relaxing things to do in the city.
