This hotel continued to astound, from the old Hollywood style entrance, to the fantastic concierge who welcomed us with a beverage and fruit! The room was outstanding; both spacious and well-appointed. The pools and tea time were also top notch. Highly recommend!

A great hotel located in Cape Town. Service and quality is high level. We stayed in one of the small cottages: amazing. Restaurants are very nice and the afternoon tea worth a visit. All went super ok in our stay....

Spent a week here on our honeymoon. They upgraded us which I thought was a nice touch. The grounds of the hotel and the views over table mountain are beautiful. It's a very tranquil place to relax in but reasonably convenient for the centre of town. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Thank you so much for your lovely review on our hotel, beautiful grounds and views. We are pleased you enjoyed the tranquility despite the fact that the hotel is so conveniently located close to the city centre.

We spent our last 2 nights at The Belmond Nelson and must say it's one of the most tranquil and relaxing places I've experienced on earth. The hotel is very traditionally British, we met guests who were staying there for 6 weeks, what a dream. The rooms are enormous the staff are the BEST and the food is to die...

Stayed for the second time recently and was very glad to be back. Anywhere warm coming from cold and wet Britain in March would be nice but the Nellie is a world apart. It can't compete with the most recent additions to the Cape Town hotel scene on the Waterfront if you like your hotels modern and with some bling....

Thank you for your glowing review. We love your description of our hotel as having historical patina and charm. Thank you also for your compliments on the grounds, the rooms, the warm and helpful staff, the cuisine and also the great staff in the Kids Club - we will be sure to let them know.

After my 4-night stay here, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Cape Town. Very British in feel. The staff is excellent. The expansive grounds have lots of outdoor seating options and are beautiful. The pool that we used outside of the breakfast area was quiet and relaxing. Our room (517) was the most spacious room I've ever stayed...

What a lovely, charming hotel! We loved every moment here: from checking in, high tea (amazing, couldn't manage to taste everything!), breakfast. Our room was perfect, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed and with all the amenities you could need. Had dinner twice at Planet and loved the food, wine and service. Actually, what makes MN better than other hotels in Cape...

Visited the Mount Nelson for Evening Tea which was splendid but beware you get masses of food, but what you do not eat you can take away with you. Great setting on the Tea Terrace and the service was brilliant.

The five star reviews of this hotel are richly deserved. It is a beautiful, old colonial style hotel with friendly and efficient staff. However, I would sound a note of caution. The room safes are there for a purpose. Do use them. We left ours open one day and paid the price. The security people investigated our [not inconsiderable] loss...

Thank you for your compliments on our hotel and on our friendly efficient staff. We are naturally very upset to hear of your loss, as we do try in every way possible to let our guests know that they must use the room safes. Our security manager has advised that the room attendant handed in the valuables to security for...
