I believe it was The Times newspaper of London that said this hotel serves the best teas in the world. Having just had tea there I can add no more. I forget the number of different varieties of teas available with sandwiches, scones, cakes of all descriptions - what more do you require? It took four members of staff to...

This hotel is in great location, but still has this colonial feel to it. Lovely well appointed rooms. Great spa-very comfortable lounges and skilled staff. Fabulous food! The best cream brûlée I ever had! Great service. Highly recommend!

This is one of Cape Town's and Africa's (and surely the world's) great and elegant hotels. Enjoyed its gardens, and grand tea room, the breakfast by the pool area, and wood paneled bar, all in one of Africa's great cities. Highly recommended property.

We arrived at the Nellie after a four day safari in Sabi Sands to continue celebrations for my husband's 50th birthday. Our reception was pleasant and efficient. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine by the lovely Gillian to start our five night stay. Our 'suite' was located on the 4th floor of the main building. While our...

We spent three nights in one of the side building. Nice large room with a balcony. The service at breakfast was poor and staff unfriendly though the dining room was not full. First morning we were not told there was a selection of hot dishes. We enjoyed the adult only pool. One afternoon there was no one and we had...

We love to bring visitors here because it seems to always be there top experience in Cape Town, if not South Africa. That was the case on this trip for my wife's sister. She came away listing it as an "experience of a lifetime" and as a Canadian, she is very fussy about her tea. The service is incredible by...

This hotel continued to astound, from the old Hollywood style entrance, to the fantastic concierge who welcomed us with a beverage and fruit! The room was outstanding; both spacious and well-appointed. The pools and tea time were also top notch. Highly recommend!

A great hotel located in Cape Town. Service and quality is high level. We stayed in one of the small cottages: amazing. Restaurants are very nice and the afternoon tea worth a visit. All went super ok in our stay....

Spent a week here on our honeymoon. They upgraded us which I thought was a nice touch. The grounds of the hotel and the views over table mountain are beautiful. It's a very tranquil place to relax in but reasonably convenient for the centre of town. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Thank you so much for your lovely review on our hotel, beautiful grounds and views. We are pleased you enjoyed the tranquility despite the fact that the hotel is so conveniently located close to the city centre.

We spent our last 2 nights at The Belmond Nelson and must say it's one of the most tranquil and relaxing places I've experienced on earth. The hotel is very traditionally British, we met guests who were staying there for 6 weeks, what a dream. The rooms are enormous the staff are the BEST and the food is to die...
