The hotel is a great place to start your sightseeing trip in Cape Town. Directly at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, next to the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre and many restaurants and bars. Enough parking spaces for your car and even valet parking, if you need it. Breakfast buffet very delicious with everything you wish and a great view of the harbour on the terrace.
Cannot recommended this hotel enough. Just returned from wonderful stay at the Table Bay. Huge rooms with amazing views. Masses of drawer and wardrobe space. Fabulous breakfast (sometimes a little queue but the gorgeous Celeste sorted everyone out quickly). The concierges were exceptional. SO helpful and really went the extra mile to help us book restaurants that were fully booked and so much more. In fact all the staff were fabulous.
Wonderful location at the V&A Waterfront. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was extensive with lots of options, for example sushi, oysters and omelets with ingredients of your choice. The area feels very safe. The rooms are large and clean.
This is such a beautiful property. It my second time around and it’s even more wonderful. Last time I was touring and very busy. This time more time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the wharf, the mountain and Capetown. The location is perfect - connected to the Victoria Wharf and near Alfred Mall. Lots of great places to eat - I Started with dinner at Ferryman and yes , the calamari is still fresh and good. Next night back to Quay Four - of course more calamari and hake. Also ate at City Grill Steakhouse , Bali Seafood and Mugg and Bean - all at the wharf and close to the hotel. There are so many wonderful eating places along with fabulous shopping available. The hotel is fabulous with the kindness staff, always willing too assist and give you a welcoming smile. I haven’t seen the cucumber water in the lobby that was so delightful during my last visit 2017. It was so refreshing. The morning breakfast buffet is still wonderful - freshly made omelet and croissant every morning. Turn down service has changed - No rose petals and No chocolate - very sad about this!!😔 Regardless, i still love this hotel and would come back again. It’s location is amazing, the staff wonderful and it feels pleasant. I loved waking up each morning looking at the harbor and the beautiful sky. I didn’t get a Mountain View this time but once you walk outside, it’s there with all is beauty.…
I am extremely saddened to see this establishment become this… The location, the history, the ambiance disappear due to an absolutely shockingly bad service, uninspired menu and below gas station like quality of food. The wait for both food and drinks was over an hour long. There weren’t enough printed menus, waiter didn’t know the menu as well as the type of food being ordered. The kitchen apparently serves both the restaurant and room service - and it seems as no one is able to process the orders neither for food and/or drinks. The bar is unable to even dispatch a bottle of water to the table. When the bill arrived everything was rang double and triple. The manager Mark was very apologetic- yet after hours spent waiting and not being able to just receive anything - yet being billed triple - we were just unable to even consider ever returning to dine at Table Bay Hotel.…
This is a very nice hotel, directly at the waterfront. The rooms and the beds were excellent, the breakfast left nothing t be desired. Not exactly cheap but worth the price, we did a lot of excursions and try to get the most out of our two night‘s stay.
We arrived at The Table Bay around lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised that all of our rooms were ready, we did wait quite a long time for our bags to arrive, in excess of an hour! check in was efficient and fast. The room was bright and in a colonial style which is very in keeping with Cape Town. The bed is very comfortable and the room spacious. The bathroom is in need of updating and the shower is an adventure as you never know whether you will freeze or burn in there. House keeping needs some work, we found a wash cloth on a stool in our bathroom from the previous guests, make up in the bathroom draws, an earring, and broken powder in another draw! Some days you do get new toiletries some days you get nothing. Turn down services varied daily, sometimes it was just the curtains closed, somedays everything was done. Very much a lack on consistency. Breakfast isn’t great, large slow moving queues to access the breakfast room, whilst there is a good selection of items, I have seen better in lower level hotels. If you require hot drinks then you will be lucky as they take so long to arrive. The worst part is the butter pots on the tables are just topped up and not completely emptied and refilled. After discovering this we went out each day for breakfast. Lots of nice places near by. The spa is generally nice and the treatments reasonable but the hard sell of products was very off putting and I did feel forced into buying things that I didn’t really want. The pool is small but plenty of sun loungers, and plenty of towels available. The service at the pool is very slow. This is our second visit to The Table Bay and will probably be our last. It isn’t what it once was and their pricing is excessive for what they can offer in comparison to other hotels in the V&A.…
Brilliant location for everything you may want to do. Easy check-in and check-out. Lovely rooms and a decent sized swimming pool. Breakfast was amazing, the best we had the whole of our holiday. It is a shame we only had one night here and will definitely be back to stay longer
This is the second time to this excellent hotel Spotlessly clean and food in abundance. Had a large double room overlooking the Waterfront and table mountain. The waterfront is right outside and a short walk to a vibrant busy shopping mall and gift shops. Plenty to do and see from this very central location Well worth a visit
The worst ever!!! House Keeping did a VERY POOR job of cleaning and replacing clean towls. We had to call two days in a row to get clean towls. The room itself, dusty is an understatement!! The linnen on the bed was never replaced in all the time we stayed there. On the Thursday we started to pack for leaving Friday - at 16h20 - plus minus, house keeping only pitched to make up the room. We obviously had to leave the room but made shore that all our belongings was put away. Well people, somebody had stolen stuff that we bought for presents. We only reallise when we wanted to exchange gives with the family that Friday, 23/12/2022. House keeping were in our room, 507, on Thursday 22/12/2022 at plus minus 16h20 onwards. We did write a letter to Sun International Head Office and hope for feedback. I will never recommend this hotel to anybody. The standards are very low.…
