For visitors wanting to stay near the famous V&A front - this is the perfect location - juts walk across the street. Also there is Red bus starting point on the back street - advantage. Rooms are too small. Price is on higher side. Breakfast is not in price. That's ZAR 175pp.

Rooms in "Building 3" like college dorm. Hardly slept all night with awful racket of birds nesting, not just outside but in roof with noise coming through AC vent return. Good location but not worth it. Try the Protea Victoria instead, or we also once stayed at the Protea North Wharf on Bree St which was good.

Great location - only a few minutes walk to the Victoria and Albert Waterfront. Very interesting history - first a gaol and now there is a business school sharing the facilities. Quick and friendly check in, good parking available for only R25 per day, and cheerful and well designed rooms. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We had drinks at...

We stayed here for about 4 nights. We liked the location, only a 5 minute walk to the V&A waterfront and all the amenities. Clean, helpful staff, great history walking through the jail area of the hotel. We would stay here again.

First stayed here 20 years ago and it is an ideal location for both Waterfront and city centre. Being set back a little it is quieter in the evenings than some of the V&A based hotels, but always feels safe and I had no concerns walking around on my own either during day, or in the evening. Might not be...

After couple of weeks touring this was for our last night before flying back home. Turned out really great location for V & A. Rooms were good although breakfast location was a fair walk away from our rooms. Friendly helpful staff, but wi fi was a bit hit and miss. Despite given password and way to connect we still required...

The room was very small but adequate. Beds were too soft for our liking - but others might prefer that. It would have been nice to have a bath as well as a shower but not a big deal. Very clean. Did not use the restaurant or bar as we preferred to go out and about. The hotel is very...

Location of hotel was about 3 mins walk from Victoria and Alfred waterfront shopping. The building was originally used as a prison. It has castle like turrets either end. There are 3 blocks. The hotel utilises the outside 2 blocks, whilst the middle block is the Graduate School of Business. Rooms were extremely spacious with either a double/ king size...

We had an extremely enjoyable stay at the Protea Hotel, the staff were really friendly and happy to accommodate us with anything we required. The location of the hotel in Cape Town is perfect, it is only a few minutes walk from all of the shops, restaurants and bars. The rooms were quite basic but clean and comfortable, everything was...
