Breakfast is amazing!!! Is located on the way to Table mountain and Lions Head. In the neighborhood there are good restaurants, I had a great time there. I stayed in two diferentes types of room. First one: 4 beds and private bedroom, was very good. The other one was a budget 4 bed room, and I sleep in a bunk...

Stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas. This is a great hostel, situated in a great location. The nightlife of Long St and Kloof St is just a couple of blocks away and sights such as Table Mountain, Lions Head and Camps Bay are just a short Uber away. The hostel is really well maintained and always clean. They have...

I have stayed in many backpackers and often just expect a place to rest my head. This backpackers exceeded expectations. It became our home for 6 days and it was a great place to hang out after running around cape town from its convenient location. It was all topped it all off was the social consciousness of the business which...

Very bad treatment to customers, there was a 100 mandatory rand deposit for the key that was not advertised before. I had no cash, as it was my last day in South Africa, but they forced me to withdraw money and pay very expensive banking fees just because of a stupid key deposit. I tried to use their ATM to...

Thank you for your review. Yes there is mandatory deposit that all guests pay for the keys. This is to ensure we get them back on check out. Keys cost us R65 each plus the tags to get in so in fact our cost price is more than what we get back if the keys don't come back.i am really...

The location is perfect, you can walk from there to anywhere. Very nice eco-friendly messages everywhere and nice initiatives to support local community projects. Breakfast is also very nice with different options and staff is super helpful to find tours and things to do in the city. God job The Backpack!

On arrival I was met by a very enthusiastic lady who welcomed me and showed me around...great. Plus side is location and an Amazon breakfast. I was in the tent which was great but pricy at 900 rand a night. Only downside was no private shower for premium price and really LOUD music in the bar area. Not necessary and...

Hi there, Thank you for coming to try out our static tent structure! As a hostel, we need a functioning bar with some good music playing in order to attract the guests and give them a fun space to interact. Kind Regards, The Backpack Team.

The best hostel I've visited. I travel here twice yearly and stay with my university students at the start of our class. The location, service, and rooms are nearly always fantastic. The only complaint is the late night staff are not exactly friendly or professional if you arrive late.

An amazing hostel with nearly perfect conditions in all aspects - surrounding, staff, rooms, equipment. We had 5 wonderful days in Cape Town and will definitely miss the wonderful breakfast every morning with Table Mountain in sight!

A little more expensive than other backpackers, this establishment is more of a homestay at 500 Rand per night for a 3-bed share, lovely clean room, decorated beautifully. Fantastic transport\pick up\drop off service ... longer-term staff (which provides a nice stability), lovely breakfast included in a very comfortable dining\entertainment\bar area. Lots of other areas for more quiet solo times. Close...
