Nestled along the waterfront, the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront captivates guests with its lively and inviting atmosphere. Its prime location not only offers easy access to nearby attractions but also boasts tranquil views that leave many travelers in awe. While the hotel's luxurious amenities and helpful shuttle service receive high marks, some guests have encountered slow service. The rooms are generally celebrated for their comfort and cleanliness, yet there are occasional service inconsistencies. The staff's attentiveness is a standout feature, although opinions on value vary, with some guests feeling the service does not always match the price point.

This hotel is in the best location with an amazing pool and dining area. My room was comfortable and spacious, however the up keep and service was below average. I had to complain multiple times that the bar fridge had not been restocked since the previous visitor and that the curtains were hanging off the rails for a few days before they were fixed (only after I had to complain). The service staff clearly don't pay attention to the rooms when cleaning as I received inconsistent bathroom supplies everyday.
The restaurant food was average considering the cost, I expected to pay alot for the food due to the location but the standard was not there.
However breakfast was fantastic everyday, they cater for every dietary requirement and offer you one of the best views, I saw dolphins daily when eatign breakfast

Dear 681chelcier, One of our key priorities is to provide the highest level of friendly and courteous service. While it was a pleasure having you here as our guest, your feedback regarding the service our housekeeping team provided caught my attention. I am very sorry to learn that the quality of service provided by housekeeping in the replenishing of items in your room did not quite meet your - or our - expectations. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared with the team in an effort to improve our guest's experience. Thank you for being OUR VALUED GUEST and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Cape Town. Kind regards, Clinton Thom General Manager

Stayed here whilst working in Cape Town and so had a few days to really get a feel of the hotel.

It's a decent hotel with some amazing views and its location which is on the sea but close to the V and A is one of its plus points.

The room was nice and well equipped and I thought breakfast was good as well with a good selection of food served each day.

The reason I give it a 4 and not 5 star is down to service being honest.

When we entered the hotel with heavy suitcases no one even attempted to help us with our luggage which was a disappointment.

The front desk are cordial but dont give off a wow level of service which I would expect for a hotel like this.

I asked one of the concierge team to help with something on one day and they were not keen to do it at all.

The food is good and its location excellent but the team here need some training on what top class customer service looks like.

The GM should send his team to the Lanzerac hotel if he wants to get them to see what true great service looks like.

Around 10 mins walk from V and A
Uber's to other locations are very good value in GBP

We spent two nights here during our holiday in South Africa. Our room was spectacular: very comfortable and very spacious with all the facilities you could wish for in a hotel room. We arrived in a hire car which we were able to park in the hotel's underground garage. Despite signs which suggested that everyone had to pay for parking, it was free to hotel guests. We had a good meal on the evening we arrived. The dining room faced the sea giving good views but the doors were open on one side and this meant it was quite cold. We saw other diners with blankets and when we asked we were provided with some ourselves - but we had to request them. Breakfast was superb - a huge variey of choices in the buffet.

On our second evening we wished to dine in the city rather than in the hotel and so asked for directions. We were shocked to be told that it was too dangerous to walk to the V&A Waterfront. The hotel provided an hourly shuttle bus but we had just missed it so we took a taxi. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was that we would be in walking distance of attractions. We were in fact close to the city centre and restaurants but walking, particularly at night, was not considered safe. We had not realised this when we planned our visit. It was our one disappointment with the hotel, but it was a serious one.

We checked out on our last day and the staff, who were always pleasant and helpful, were happy to keep our luggage until later in the day.

Dear jpcheshire1615, Thank you for your wonderfully detailed review of your stay at our gorgeous hotel. One of our key priorities is to provide the highest level of friendly and courteous service. While it was a pleasure having you here as our guest, your feedback regarding the misinformation provided to you, caught my attention. I am very sorry to learn that you've been given the incorrect information regarding our City and I certainly hope that it was not from one of my team members. We are situated in a prime area and while crime is little to none, every traveller should be cognisant that no city in the world is devoid of crime. I am however extremely proud to say that there has not been a single incident of any of our guests being mugged in all the years I've been here. Its a wonderful leisurely walk and such a pity you've missed out. One or two guests have complained that it is too far, but many just simply love it and usually opt to walk rather than take the complimentary shuttle. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared with the team in an effort to improve our guest experience. Thank you for being OUR VALUED GUEST and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Cape Town. Until then..... Sunny regards, Clinton Thom General Manager

Poor general customer service provided by majority of staff some of whom were actually aggressive. The best staff are the Congolese porters Alpha and Ilunga plus Mandla from the restaurant. Customer service training clearly required at this hotel as usually you should be offered a hot beverage when seated for breakfast but twice we finished breakfast before this occurred and we actually had to hunt down a waiter and ask for hot beverage service. Unfortunately in 2020 at this hotel it’s quite obvious that the colour of your skin determines the level of service you will receive with the best service offered to the fairer skinned. Quality of room setup and facilities not in line with 5-star rating, curtains fall off rails when pulled to close so I had to use insulating tape to make temporary repairs. Room we paid for was not as described so had to demand a change, changed to a room with no a/c and had to be given a floor fan for the night (30 deg Celsius no opening windows). On two occasions I had to ask for soap to be replenished after room was cleaned. Cockroaches in bathroom. Pointless room service menu as most of the food options listed were always unavailable. On room service menu soft drinks listed as 330ml you pay for that and expect that but you are actually given 300ml. Loads more inherent issues to list but you catch my drift.

We won a 2 night stay in a premium room at the Radisson Blu Waterfront which I booked one and a half months in advance with Naydene Hardenberg. When we got to check in we were given our room cards and went up to our room which I immediately noticed was not the correct room as I’d looked up what a premium room should be online. We called reception to ask why we’re not in the correct room and after a few minutes of trying to make them understand the situation they told us there were no premium rooms available and they’d have to move us to one the next day only and will just compensate spa vouchers or a dinner for us. There was no apology from anyone, even when we went down to reception to speak about it nobody was apologetic at all. We would’ve much rather received the correct room which we BOOKED than a voucher for food or a spa. We can only imagine because it was a competition that we won that the hotel staff had tried their luck, placing us in a downgraded room expecting us not to notice. We can’t believe how unwelcome we felt and the lack of professionalism from such a high graded hotel. We even received attitude from a staff member in reception when we asked what they’d be doing to sort out the room situation as had a staff member just enter our room the one evening while we were in the bathroom and couldn’t hear their knock. If you’re not going to treat competition winners like one of your paying customers then don’t give away these prizes. We don’t think we’ll be paying to stay with this hotel in the future.

Dear megan194475, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret to hear about your disappointment in the room you received and wish to sincerely apologise for the inconveniences caused. We attempt to fulfill each of our guest’s requests to the best of our ability, but sometimes, as hard as we try, we're unable to. My team did their best to make up for the mishap by offering you and your partner dinner or spa vouchers, which you refused. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. I hope you give us another chance so we may give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Clinton Thom General Manager

The staff in this hotel are lovely, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfasts are amazing, the choice is overwhelming, you can even have champagne and oysters! Our room was large and airy and the bathroom also included a large shower and twin basins. The hotel also provides a free shuttle to the V and A, great for shopping and huge choice of restaurants and other attractions. I would definitely stay here again.

I was pleased with my stay here – you can park your car for free. The hotel lobby area is nice, complimentary flavored water and snacks are out during the day. The staff that work around the reception area/ front of house are really welcoming. The breakfast was decent, good and broad selection. The outdoor area sunbeds could be improved / cleaned but the general standard is good! The rooms are pretty basic but a fair reflection on the photos on the website. Overall would stay again, I felt safe here!

Oceanview Room beautiful.. Hotel and staff fantastic and the latter amazing in my hour of need! My 3 day room service breakfast was rated down a little as the one hot breakfast disappointing had various items missing e.g. a fork, milk for tea and toast and the whole plate was over baked, so very hard eggs. Replacement eggs never arrived after 20 mins, so cancelled the order! Otherwise a fab 3 day stay.

One dinner I had ordered through room service was served cold (especially the tomato soup) I could not eat it.
Secondly, I ordered a bottle of red wine through room service. The Server did not bring a cork screw to open the bottle. She later gave me the cork screw but didn't offer to open the bottle. It turned out I couldn't use that type of corkscrew. I called one touch for assistance and only after several calls and more than 30 minutes later, did someone come to help with opening the wine bottle.
Lastly, housekeeping did not leave any drinking water in my room on one of the days.
The location of the hotel is ideal, close to V&A Waterfront. The size of the room is good for one person and clean. The AC worked well for both cold and heating as required. Overall experience was very good. I will certainly return to the same hotel when next in Cape Town and would also highly recommend it.

Even tho you pay such a high price for the room that over looks the parking lot. you have to share it with many cockroaches, when you complain at the front desk about it all they do is give you a can of doom (bug poison)... so When you check in please be sure to get the can of Doom from the start to save you self the trouble and you can fend them off for yourself. There are honestly more affordable places that are of higher quality, that care for their guests and hygiene. So don’t book here

Dear 60jason, I am sincerely sorry about your horrid experience and have apologised to you on various platforms. Please know that we do have a very strict fumigation policy schedule and our health and safety standards are of International standard. It is terrible that, despite all of this, those critters have still managed to creep in and cause havoc. This is not the norm. We have now included extra fumigation phases to prevent a repetition. Thank you for bringing this to my attention again. All our rooms have fantastic views - Ocean view and Mountain View. It just so happens that our mountain view, overlooks the entrance to our hotel. It is always a pleasure to upgrade our guests, but in your case, we were fully booked, so could, unfortunately, not move you to a room with a better view. We look forward to welcoming you back again and can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Until then....
