A clean, homely and pleasant guesthouse that served its purpose perfectly. There is no breakfast at Anchor Bay, but that's exactly what we were after - no pressure to get up at a certain time etc. The proprietor, Burt is warm and helpful and very passionate about his neighbourhood. The Nespresso machine in room was added bonus and the biscuits...

Just checked in to this lovely guest house. We have a back room on the first floor with a large balcony and a view of Robben Island. Very high standard room, beautifully furnished and decorated. A quick bus ride into town. Walking distance to restaurants. Very helpful owners.

We had a great visit at the Guest House - very clean - comfortable - friendly and helpful host and staff - complimentary tea, coffee and cookies - good location (5 min to beach stroll and hop-on-hop-off bus stop) - easy walk to restaurants by the beach - would not hesitate to recommend this place

The best accomodation we came across in Cape Town area. Owners very friendly and open, felt better than home ☺ pity that we could not have stayed longer. Comfortable bed, all very clean, nice terrace. Petra and Dominik

Spacious bathroom and great beds and duvets. A lovely welcoming lounge area to enjoy a drink or cup of coffee/tea. You will feel right at home! I loved the roof fan and airconditioning options as I visited during February when it was very hot.

Our experience at this guest house was nothing short of incredible. If Burt's personalised suggestions of amazing places to visit were not enough, the plethora of amazing restaurants all with walking distance, each of which he seems to have personally sampled, were well advised. Service was incredible! From friendly staff, to Burt's (I'm sure not standard practice) offer to go...

Thank you Burt for a wonderful week in your home. Everything was amazing. Free wine and coffee was beyond our wildest dreams. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping was terrific and towels/ bed linen were changed regularly. Probably the best guest house we have ever stayed in! If you can afford it,...

We stayed for 2 nights at the start of our trip and another night towards the end of our trip. This place can't be beaten in terms of value for money. The property is adoringly looked after by gracious owner, Burt, who truly makes you feel as though you are a friend staying at his house. The location is perfect,...

We stayed at Anchor Bay Guest House for 4 nights during a trip to Africa and this was one of the highlights. We chose it from previous reviews and it was even better than we expected - Burt and Bev are exceptional hosts, our room was beautiful, and we really enjoyed sitting on the deck having sundowners and swapping stories...
