Not the big plastic international - small, Informal, quiet, personal, friendly, all the little touches that tick the boxes and can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. What a wonderful place to stay in Cape Town ! The room we had for 7 days was beautiful with a huge, comfortable bed; the breakfasts on the verandah were superb -...

We were a party of 11 with ages ranging from 7 to 81 and this place really suited all. Rooms tastefully decorated, spacious and really gave a cosy yet elegant impression. Garden and pool area small but well planned. Breakfasts a delight and staff kind, caring and extremely helpful. Jean-Claude, who had the night watch, was a rock, in fact...

We arrived very early off the flight from London and wondered what we'd do whilst we waited for our room to be ready. However on arrival we were offered breakfast, refreshments and shower changing facilities and made to feel most welcome. When we got our room we were really surprised as to how comfortable and homely it felt. Lots of...

There is jolly well NOTHING bad to say about Blackheath Lodge. Compared with the chilly banality of a 5-star hotel, this place is heaven on earth...stylish, personal, sophisticated, warm and convenient and liberally sprinkled with interesting guests but with none of the hokey, stifling over-intimacy of your usual B&B. Our room was excellent - upstairs, spacious and with its own...

We stayed at Blackheath at the beginning of an18 day tour of Cape Town and the Garden Route, and it was a brilliant start to the tour. We arrived early in the morning at Cape Town airport and were picked up by a car and driven to the Lodge with a commentary of the areas we were travelling through. We...

We have stayed with our family for four nights in this wonderful guesthouse! Beautiful rooms, a delicious and complete breakfast ( They even baked pancakes for our children). And above all, we felt more then welcome. They had excellent tips for nice restaurants and trips, and made reservations for us, so we got the best places everywhere! We want to...

We were there for a week. The location, owners, atmosphere, service and interior were perfect. I loved that they have two cats living in the hotel and really felt like at home. Quiet place. Looks like all the guests are visiting every year, so suggest to book in advance to get a good room. Ours was not big, but clean....

I was visiting Cape Town not for a holiday but for family reasons. From the moment I arrived at Blackheath Lodge, to be greeted cordially by Michelle, I was treated wonderfully well. Owing to a very early flight arrival from London, I couldn't yet get access to my room. It didn't matter: I was able to shower in the facility...

My husband and I stayed here for the first few nights of our honeymoon, back in November, and it was perfect. The bedroom and bathroom were gorgeous, really beautifully decorated and really comfortable. All the staff were charming and extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and varied and the location was excellent. The main sights and places to eat...
