Jambo Guest House is featured in the traveling book "Unusual & Unique overnight directory" as the only guesthouse in South Africa. If there was a book called "Unusual & Unique hosts directory" Barry and Mina would be in that one as well. Thank you for 3 wonderful days full of stories, kindness and guitarplay in the bar.

Mina's and Barry's home is a fairytale come true. Every room has it's own beautiful decor and the garden is a little piece of green jungle right there in Cape Town. We enjoyed their company and especially appreciated the evening when Barry played his guitar for us.

Just had a wonderful 6 nights at Jambo. Barry and Mina are terrific hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Jambo is close to several restaurants within walking distance as is the V&A. Our room backed onto their lovely garden and was great to unwind at the end of the day or relax before breakfast. Breakfast was an extensive buffet... More

This was our 7th stay at Jambo (first in 1999). It is as good as ever. Unfortunately, Mina (hostess/owner) was away on a short break - but it was great to catch up with Barry, especially for evening drinks and chat in the characterful bar room. As usual Barry was so helpful, swiftly organising transport etc. for us and providing... More

We stayed here on a recent visit to SA, our friends had used Jambo on several previous occasions. It is a very comfortable guest room with easy access to anything you want to see in Cape Town. It also has off road parking which is in short supply in this part of town. The house is jam packed with all... More

This is a gem you do not want to miss. Each of the 5 guest rooms is different than another and comfortably pleasant. Most importantly, Mina & Barry, your hosts, are the most gracious and wonderful people you ever want to be with. You are not a guest in a hotel but a guest in their home and treated as... More
