Do not be put off by some of the reviews posted suggesting this guest house is too far from the town centre! Two reasons - it is a sanctuary of tranquility after a busy day sightseeing and secondly you can either walk in via the breath taking cliff walk or take a cheap taxi! The staff and owners make every...

We spent 3 nights and we really appreciated our stay. Our room (#11) was particularly quiet, large and comfortable, with a private terrasse. Warm welcome, very good breakfast and large and lovely swimming pool. We really appreciated our stay and recommend this lodge.

Whale Rock Luxury Lodge is a beautiful house with lovely rooms. We were made to feel very welcome and would highly recommend it to others. It is opposite the new harbour. The old harbour is a 5min drive from this accommodation. There is also a fantastic coastal path between the two harbours which takes about 45 mins to walk with amazing...

This is a plain hotel. Plain luxury. It does not have a view of the ocean but it has almost everything else. A pool. A nice breakfast. Service that works. Ability to fix things and an amount of privacy that you might want after visiting a busy city. You feel that you can relax here. It is close to the...

This was not the best of our chosen stays in S Africa, but then it was the lowest in cost. The website pictures look appealing, being as it is, in a pleasant large garden. However, the property feels rather enclosed by the boundary wall and with limited external views in a location away from the main town area. Our room...

Whale Rock Luxury Lodge is exactly what it says. A beautiful house with beautiful lusurious rooms. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely recommend it to others. Within a 5-10 min walk there is a fantastic fish restaurant and if you want more choice there are plenty more restaurants in the old harbour which is a 5-10...

We are so pleased we made the trip to Hermanus, and what better place to stay (as we found to our delight) than Whale Rock Luxury Lodge. Our room was No4, which is upstairs and has a balcony with sea views. It was superb. Each of the rooms are different and are finished to a very high standard indeed. Grounds,...

The position of whale lodge was excellent with plent of coastal walks close by and not too far to travel to town. The accommodation was excellent and the staff were very helpfully. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Would liked to have stayed longer.

Warm welcome from Victor who took time to explain the lodge and showed us to our upgraded room (nice surprise), unfortunately we were only here for one night, the Lodge is absolutely spotless and well run, staff were all very friendly and helpful, it is set in a quiet area of Hermannus about 30min walk to the centre, breakfast was...
