Not everyone's taste but they don't try to be. Nice quiet place in the bush . Vegan but very good food, well cooked and very tasty. Lots of hidden secrets including a recording studio and very competent nature guide if required. Like staying at a family farm .

We chose to stay in the tent that overlooks the forest from the balcony. Cottages are also available for hire. Sitting on the balcony one can view the birdlife of which the lovely Knysna Louries are frequent visitors. Although I am not a camper by heart and the tent was fairly basic, it had a double bed which was very...

I stayed in the Fire fly forest tent. This tent is by far the best. You have a comfy Queen size bed. With lights and a window to nature. The Knysna Loeries came to feed by my tent each morning. The only downside is you still hear cars, lawnmowers and noise from the neighbouring farms. I fasted for 3 days...

Had a great time chilling in the forest. Jen is an expert in the area and gave us plenty of good advice for walking and eating. We stayed in a forest tent, and there's nothing quite like waking up to the sound of bird song. Amenities were clean, and we enjoyed the 'loo with a view'. :-)

We loved staying here. Perfect for two nights with the kids who loved the ponies and the naughty monkeys that stole our breakfast. Loved our food and the calm atmosphere and friendly Jen and the barn was beautiful and perfect accommodation. Clean and lovely and big (my only request would be to have black out curtains in bed rooms!)

Staff exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. The bird experience so special, also the way in which they care for the birds.

Our family had such a peaceful stay. Loved reading our books on the porch or sitting in the swing. The food is divine. A real must for nature lovers and peaceful people. We could easily spend a week chilling out at Peace of Eden delighting in Jen's cooking.

We have a lovely 2 night stay - pretty country side setting; relaxed easy going and down to earth team running it! We stayed in Djembe cottage which had all we needed for a private get away (minus kids) and a lovely deck that Jen kindly fed us her award winning Vegan dinners at. Facilities are simple, rustic but clean...

Peace of Eden is exactly what they say they are on their website, quirky and mysterious. If you appreciate nature and the simple life, this will definitely be the place for you. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peace of Eden, fondly known by many as 'The Peace Lodge' is a quirky beautiful place that is setting trends as the first Vegan Backpackers Lodge and Retreat in South Africa if not Africa! Only 8 km's off the main N2, its set alongside magical indigenous forests and offers eco rustic creative accommodation from woodcutter Cottages (once the stables), a Barn Cabin, a cute fairy tale double story Cottage and four retro canvas tents on stilts in the forest. Perfect for nature lovers and the more eco green aware travelers. They offer gorgeous 5 star vegan dinners and breakfasts, its best to pre book in winter, however meals are available every day in summer. Whilst nature does most of the entertaining, they also offer an onsight nature Guide who can take you on any adventure, an award winning Music Studio with sunset soirees, festivals and host creative and holistic workshops. Be it for a night stop or used as base to explore the incredible Garden Route National Park, this 'Peace Lodge' is perfect for those wanting to be a little off the beaten track and who love something different from the mostly busy noisy backpackers, traditional BnB or impersonal hotels. Here you arrive as a stranger and leave a friend inspired by the owners Jen, Howard and Jessamine who do what inspires them and share it with love. ... more   less
