On arriving our room was changed with no prior notification and we were not told just taken to a 6 sleeper chalet, we were told we were upgraded because of film crew being there. (They should have told me when i booked and we could have changed it for another weekend)We had booked for a executive room garden facing, (never...

What a letdown! Was told that the calamari was some of the best in Cape Town, but was sorely disappointed. They charged us R95 for a pathetic portion. The calamari was mostly flavourless and was cold when it arrived! The chips had the texture of food that has been prepared, frozen, and then reheated. They were disgusting. The best part...

The Resort is run down and old. Also there is construction at the moment and there was no warning when we booked. Breakfast and service in the restaurant was good. Some more attention to detail in the rooms would be good, for example a plunger and filter coffee and water.

Spent 10 days at this resort, staff and food were great BUT be prepared for a major work-out especially if you stay in the Crown Eagle. I'm not kidding it's like you are climbing a extremely step hill everyday and boy it was always windy. If they spent a lot of money on the outdated rooms it would certainly deserve...

Our team of 30 folk from around SA gathered at the resort for our annual strategic planning session. Breakaway rooms and outdoor space is well equipped. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were catered for without much effort being made for those who didn't consume beef and pork. The week was spent on a chicken diet!!! Rooms are well kept, neat and...

We booked in well in advance, with a little inside information on the best cottage to choose. There are options of cottages with either garden or beach views, and we wanted sea views. The Crowned Eagle cottage is exquisite , nestled in the trees, but perched high above the miles and miles of deserted, dazzling white sands and azure sea...

We had pre-booked for lunch at one pm for 4 people and waited to be seated and were told that we would get a table outside as one was due to come available. We were shown to a table inside while we waited. After sitting for 15 mins with no drinks we were asked if someone had been to look...

Four of us called into Monkey Valley for a drink and decided to have lunch too. Big mistake! We were taken inside as there were no tables outside so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the scenery as our view was obscured by a tree. We ordered 4 meals which took around 45 minutes to arrive. One of our...

Thank you for your review. This time of the year we call it the silly season for a reason as most restaurants are packed to capacity. This was also a public holiday. If you just turn up to a restaurant without a booking you cannot expect to have the best table. we have a policy at Monkey Valley not to...

I had the chance to spend two nights at this Resort and Fawlty Towers has nothing on Monkey Valley Resort. 1/ Resort was undergoing new construction so one had to negotiate through rubble and partially framed structure simply to get to reception. 2/ Rooms were moderately clean however the bed had a broken/aged mattress such that i spent the first...
