The farm and accommodation was absolutely beautiful. If you want to get away from the city pressures, its a great place to go relax and unwind. Dick and Mary are superb hosts and always willing to add a little bit extra to your stay. Dinner was deliscious along with their company and finding out about the farm. This was our...

What an amazing experience we had at the Rolbaken farm! I'm just sorry we forgot to leave feedback sooner on TripAdvisor, which is where we found Rolbaken in the first place when we were planning our South Africa road trip. We only stayed one night, although we would have loved to stay longer. The guesthouse on the farm is wonderful,...

We couldn't have asked for more - as soon as we arrived after a gravel road drive, we were welcomed by Mary, the owner of Rolbaken and she was quick to show us around the guesthouse. As we didn't realise the guesthouse was a fair trip out of Oudtshoorn town, we asked Mary if she'd mind if she cooked us...

We stayed at Rolbaken for 2 nights. Don't let the gravel road put you off, its scenic and well worth the effort. On arrival we were greeted with cold beers, and home made cordial, plus the offer to drive us to the dam for a swim to cool off, the only company we had with us at the dam was...

The purpose of this holiday was to get away from the stresses and headaches of working life. I can't think of a more perfect place to do that than Rolbaken. The location is amazing. Talk about peaceful! The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful that you end up just staring at it for hours! Mary and Dick are wonderful hosts who immediately...

An excellent discovery. Rolbaken is situated well off the beaten track, and you have to travel about 12 miles (19km) on a dirt road to get to it but bare with it because it is well worth it. We were met by by Dick and Mary Carr who own the property and they immediately made us feel very welcome. The...

I and some close friends stayed at Rolbaken guest house this February for two weeks, and it was the best holiday I have ever had. It is a little out of town but if you follow Dick's directions it’s easy to find. I have stayed in some of the world’s best hotels-this guest house leaves them for dead, it has...

We spent nearly 3 weeks in Rolbaken but never felt bored. Although it is a bit off the beaten track there is still so much to see and do within an hour's drive. We loved the absolute peace and quiet, the stars at night and the beautiful birds. In Switzerland we always perceive South Africa as being dangerous but we...

We had a most enjoyable time at Rolbaken. The accommodation is in a charming cottage that consists of three en-suite rooms, a shared kitchen, dining room and living room. The cottage is well equipped to self-cater although we opted to be pampered and booked the room with dinner. We were lucky enough to share a dinner with Mary, Dick and...
