I was looking for a suitable high end restaurant in the Stellenbosch area for an end of visit thank you for a business colleague. On spec I tried the Asara wine farm and hotel restaurant. By now one can become almoat blaze' about finding world class venues in the Cape and Asara is just that. Superb decor, views, service and of...

Dear Richard888888, Many thanks for choosing Asara to host your end of visit thank-you, and for the enthusiastic compliments. It's true that the hotel and restaurants can be a bit quiet at this time of the year, but that obviously also has its advantages, and arguably makes this a very good time to be visiting Asara. Thank-you, and we hope...

Very impersonal however the tasting was great and the view was superb. Do not go for a tasting rather go to relax on the patio with their great wines and meals. A very relaxed environment. Add a picture to your album so next time you see the bottle in a store you know where it comes from

Dear Karicks, Thank-you for reviewing your visit to Asara. We’re glad that you enjoyed the tasting and the views, but sorry to hear that your visit felt impersonal. Creating a warm and welcoming environment is most important to us, and we regret that this is not what you experienced. You’re so right about relaxing on the patio (at Sansibar), but,...

Our fourth visit and a must now when we visit the Western Cape. Had asked for the same deluxe room as previously but delighted to be upgraded to the Vineyard suite (103). A beautiful and large suite, overlooking the lake with large balcony. Very well equipped room - as all rooms are. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Food excellent...

We recently had three unforgettable nights at Asara and were treated to luxurious rooms, great service, jaw-drop beautiful surroundings and delicious food. As a group we also had a cooking experience with the chef, which was loads of fun and very informative. This was our third stay at Asara and will, hopefully, not be our last. Definitely recommended.

Absolutely awesome place to stay....Great ambience..friendly and helpful staff..Great room... Only drawback is that there is nothing much for kids to do besides swimming and light hiking on the estate. But for adults and especially couples it's an exquisite spot.

Dear Nancy K, Thank-you for your review of Asara, and complimentary remarks. It is true that, apart from the pool and walks, specific kid friendly activities are a bit limited at Asara, but there are many things for kids to do and see nearby. Please chat to the folks in reception for recommendations and suggestions about this when you are...

We stayed here for 2 nights and I have to say I am glad it was not more. The reception staff does not seem to be professional, they don't smile or make you feel welcome. The room and the whole hotel feels a bit old, we expected more for the price we paid. Breakfast was okay, but had to wait...

We enjoyed a fabulous 2 night break with my in-laws at Asara Wine Estate and all left feeling refreshed and pampered. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a glass of their rather excellent wine and could choose from red or white (they also have water or orange for non- drinkers). I handed the car keys over to their staff who...

Loved the stay, lovely room and super service from front desk through to the restAurant. Spent part of the afternoon relaxing in the bar sipping on the cape fusion wine and loving the scenery.
