As a Gold ProKard member for many years I have stayed at almost ALL the Protea Hotels in South Africa as well as in Namibia. I, therefore, regard myself ‘qualified’ to KNOW what the standards of these hotels are. Surely I know, too, what one can expect at a dinner buffet. I was utterly disappointed tonight at the so-called buffet...

I recently spent one night at Protea Tyger Valley after a long flight from California. The customer service from the manager that night surpassed expectations. (I wish I could remember her name). I had paid for the room online and for some reason it did not show up for the staff member serving me. The manager was called after a...

Large, comfortable, clean rooms with space to work. Stayed here twice for 2 nights each time. Friendly staff and good food. Very quiet considering how close it is to the highway. If you are not in your own car, the walk to the room can be a bit challenging in the rain!

We stayed two nights in this hotel. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice. The hotel lacks excitement, quirkiness or charm -- it is very plain. Some might say it is boring. However, there are no nasty surprises either. This is a hotel where everything is as expected - no...

Rooms are average - you get what is expected from a Protea Hotel. Clean rooms, free Wifi, free water, fridge, work desk, double bed and parking close to the room. Biggest frustration is that the Hotel is located next to a very busy highway and below the flight path to the Cape Town International Airport - once you get use...

Stayed about 6 times here over 6 months. Rooms were always neat except a smoking room dud 1 time. Menu fair staple. Suggest you eat out for dinner and be careful in using room service too often. The view of Table mountain, lions head and signal hill is breathtaking in the morning.
