Welcome to Pondok Bambu Candidasa dive resort, bar and seaside restaurant. renovated to a higher standard since beginning 2016. Pondok Bambu is a beautiful and comfortable dive resort located in the centre of Candidasa, Bali, Indonesia. Only one and a half hours drive from the International Airport Ngurah Rai. Surrounded by nature and tropical gardens, Pondok Bambu dive resort features rooms with balconies overlooking the gardens or the sea. The dive resort offers free private parking. Our facilities include our Bambu Divers dive center, restaurant, swimming pool, bar and 24 hour front desk service. Our swimming pool has two parts, shallow for kids and a depth of 2 meters for adults, where you can spend time to swim, relax and sunbathe on the sun beds. Or just go down the steps to the beach and lounge in the sea, or sunbathe on the beach. Our restaurant, with a view of the beach, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a variety of options ranging from Asian to Western food, and with a special Dutch snack menu. The bar provides a place to relax while enjoying a drink and also enjoy the beauty of the sky at sunset. Pondok Bambu also offers you diving with Bambu Divers providing a special experience and unforgettable moments. Take a few dives, or take a PADI Open Water certification course; all of this can be arranged. From our dive resort you can explore the surroundings of Candidasa. You may want to visit Tenganan (a Bali Aga village, where Balinese live according to ancient traditions), visit any of the many temples and palaces in the area, join a ceremony, go trekking in the hills, and enjoy stunning views of the beautiful rice fields. Pondok Bambu is a lovely hotel set right on the beach in Candidasa. Whilst very casual it is extremely good value for money. It is located only a 5 minute walk from the Lotus Lagoon and directly opposite the popular Crazy Kangaroo bar and restaurant (owned by the same owner). The rooms are very nice and very quiet, beds a little hard but pillows amazing. The bathroom is huge with plenty of hot water. Very well air conditioned and a fridge in the room, it has all you need. Set amongst butterfly filled gardens it is a lovely setting. A set menu Breakfast is served overlooking the water and the neighbouring islands in a beachside / pool side locale. The quality of the food, breakfast and lunch is excellent as it is a similar menu to Crazy Kangaroo. The beach is coral filled and can maybe be swam in but looks good for snorkelling, with turtles swimming up to the shore at night. Anyhow great value and I would thoroughly recommend.

Pondok Bambu Diving Resort in Candidasa is a dream come true. It felt like stepping into a movie with its picturesque architecture, beautiful green surroundings, and the beach right in front, breathtaking! The rooms are spacious, the diving facilities top-notch, and the staff exceptionally warm and welcoming. Delicious food, both local and international, adds to the charm. Highly recommended for a magical getaway. Can't wait for my next visit! 😍

We returned to Candidasa this year after 3 1/2 years away due to “you know what”.
Our go-to place was Pondok Bambu so we decided to stay there again.
A great boutique hotel in the middle of town with ocean front views, large rooms, beautiful pool, great breakfast. A little oasis that is easy to miss but certainly worth a try. We’ve already booked our return visit next year.

Amazing place to stay. Great view and lovely people. They also have a diving school which was an AMAZING experience. We swam with manta and saw gorgeous coral. Candidasa was nice stay for us much more relaxed then the other parts of bali. Booked a stay for next year already❤️

It’s a favourite lunch spot for us in Candidasa and we always take a towel as the pool is so lovely! You walk in from the busy main street and feel instantly cooled by the shady, leafy walkway. You are always welcomed here whenever you show up and the food is always good and very inexpensive. My favourite? The Soto Ayam and chocolate ice cream sundae.

This really is a joy to come to. The entrance does not do it justice.
First the reception, then the Dive Centre and then the gardens leading to the restaurant, pool and terrace over looking the sea.
A wonderful place. Nice staff, great food. I will return for sure.

We chanced upon this place from a guide book and indeed it is a very nice place. I was especially happy with the food they served and the portion is amazing. My personal favorite was the chicken cordon bleu. It was tasty and the portion isn't for those who eat little. The one thing that frowned me slightly was the eatery doesn't have any fans. So you can imagine it can get quite hot and stuffy whilst trying to enjoy your meals or drinks. No doubt it's just by the sea, still the unpredictable sea breeze can be a slight discomfort. Other than that, I would really recommend this place to everyone.

I've been diving there one year ago. It was great! This year I also had the room there. Just amazing! The Divecenter and the boat to dive with is within less than a minute walk within the area. The rooms are great, diving there is the best and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I booked for 4 nights and stayed 6. I'd go back there immediately!

Central location, fabulous staff, and a great restaurant. Accommodation was good, clean and adequate. Would certainly recommend this hotel to my friends. If you are looking for a snorkling, dive holiday. Then you have found it here....

In general shuttle bus to and from airport is a seperate business and easy to arrange, it helps to share the money around. Plenty of scope from the airport too. We arranged our transport to and from with a contractor. To and from restaurants are uselly provided free. And drivers to hire for day trips are available everywhere.
There are more places to choose from in the Candidasa area.
