Lovely quinta full of character. Very friendly staff, the lady of the house was very welcoming and warm. Beds were comfortable, fresh bread, jam, juice, cake and coffee for breakfast, what more can you possibly wish for. We stayed for one night, but would certainly come back for more. I loved the place.

Typical Portuguese family home. Marvelous, wonderful place. The house, an old Templar convent, has an impressive collection of artifacts of the family as well as memories from their stays as ambassadors all around the world. A "must see" and enjoy some lovely relaxing days in the country and by the pool. Six stars :-)

Quinta da Anunciada Velha is situated close to Tomar, a bit difficult to locate, but quite close to the city. The host, D. Sofia is very helpful and polite, and her assistants are always more than happy to help. The rooms, in the main house, are very comfortable, although lacking air-con and wi-fi. The house (beautifully decorated and furnished) is... More

We got a charming room in this huge house owned by a previous Ambassador of Portugal in the Vatican and his wife Ines. We toured the house with many pictures and history. Good, clean and large room without A/C but has a ventilator which helped. No toiletries so bring your own. Good but small breakfast with good service. It's a... More

We stayed in this place only 1 night but would have loved to extend: an oasis in the hills behind Tomar, breakfast as in most B&B Quintas (good coffee, jam cheese and bread). The owner speaks well English and will be happy to help you to find restaurants and sightseeings. Pool is missing for my understand a bit shadow (trees?)... More

One of the nicest family farms I've ever stayed at. Very nice and helpful owner, also an artist. Main family house is spectacular and smaller houses are beautiful and very nicely decorated. Nice swimming pool and centennial surroundings. Very near to Tomar which is a wonderful and historical Portuguese town, with really good restaurants. Have a nice stay!

This is the kind of place to be if you like silence. The occasional distant dog barking or the humming of the bees - that's it. This place is just outside Tomar sitting in a beautiful rural landscape with a long history of monks and crusaders. It is run by an elegant older lady and it's been with the family... More

The Best. Really. Beautiful home in wonderful location. Great room with typical colourful local furniture. Great breakfast room and food. Fantastic common areas and the swimming pool in the wineyard if absolutely terrific to relax. One of the best place we have stayed. To be back in the future.... Portugal remains in our heart
