Despite its multiple eccentricities, we are compelled to recognise this Residencial with a five rating. The location in Serpa Pinto is really outstanding and allows easy access to just about all the major attraction sites as well as a range of very good restaurants. The staff is very friendly, responsive, concerned that their guests are enjoying themselves and very, very...

We booked Residencial Uniao for one night with modest expectations as Tomar does not really offer great hotel options. The hotel is simple and old as we expected but has a surprising TV/reading room type which brought a upper scale touch to our stay. Beds are nice, bathrooms are clean and the hotel is quiet despite its central location. Jorge,...

Lovely old building in central Tomar, one step and your on the beautiful central street. Inside a lovely old building with steep stairs and laid back charm. The rooms are fitted with beautiful old furniture, but the bed was very comfortable. The manager was a lovely man full of information. However we went in February on a particularly cold and...

As you walked through the door it is stepping back either the 1940s or Edwardian times. You mountaineer the steep stairs to your big room and admire the arts and crafts furnishings. Sleep in beds with bedding that weigh a ton. Dont go there in winter (February) as no hot water will come through the taps even running the hot...

My wife stayed at this hotel for 3 days in October, The hotel itself was quite comfortable. Being there made me feel like we had stepped back in time. (For us, this is a good thing). There were lots of public spaces where you could hang out. The room itself was small, but it worked for the two of us....

Guest and house are the operative words here. This house has been taking visitors for two hundred years and you certainly feel like a welcome guest, but luxury, it is not. Every public room is at your disposal, full of character and it was lovely to see guests walking about the house feeling at home. All staff were friendly and...

Sweet little pension in the middle of town. Family owned, honor system bar, rooms full of old/antique furniture, charming staff and generally just a lovely, lovely place to stay. Not a Best Western, so if you like cookie cutter bland with all the lumps sanitized out, this place is not for you.

Me and my wife read the descriptions for União and right away knew this was the place to stay. It's a 120 years old hotel, and yes, it's not shiny or fancy, but boy it does have character. The floor boards squeak a bit, and the bathroom tiles are old, but everything is very clean and tide. The shower is...

My husband and I spent one night in this very friendly hotel and we found everything simply perfect. The hotel is wonderfully located in the historic centre of Tomar, rooms are cosy and clean, the staff is very kind. The ratio quality/price is really amazing.

Unfortunately this hotel didn't really live up to our expectations. Everything was rather dated and worn out, especially the bathroom. The bed was small, and the mattress uncomfortable. The walls were paperthin so we could hear our neighbors' choice of tv programs word for word. Breakfast was mediocre (cold coffee, very little choice). Staff were very friendly, and the central...
