We stayed at Art factory hostel when visiting Buenos Aires on our 6 week tour of south America and it was probably one of the best hostels we stayed at during our entire trip. The graffiti and art inside is amazing and really adds something interesting to the place. The staff on reception are very helpful and the rooms are... More

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. The staff are all lovely and very helpful, happy to answer any questions and give tips on all of the highlights of Buenos Aires. Lovely atmosphere here! Breakfast was great, very tasty bread, eggs and cereal. Rooms were nice and bathrooms were always clean. Great showers also. Only downside was that it was... More

The hostel itself is great and the terrace is very nice. Bathrooms are relatively clean. Don't walk outside the hostel at night. Just don't. For your own safety. This is the only reason I gave an average review, the rest is good, almost great.

Best price/quality place. Nice and Gentle people and good Service. You can not find better place for that price. El mejor lugar precio/Calidad. Gente muy amable y servicial. El servicio es bueno. Mucho mejor que el Art Factory Palermo. (y)

Well located, staff is amazing, really helpful and kind ( I was sick in bed and they were so kind in bringing me soup to me). It's confortable and clean. The heating is enough as well. I'd totally stay there again.

Art Factory was one of the "coolest" hostels I've stayed at. I visited on two separate occasions - each with different rooms - which were large, clean, and had awesome murals. The staff was also great, notifying guests of local events and having an "activities board" for things they organize themselves. Great for a new visitor. The one thing that... More

We don't understand all the fuss about this hostel that we've read on trip advisor and have been really disappointed. Yes the location is good, in the heart of San Telmo, rooms were of a good size but that s about it. 2 out of 4 people working at the reception were friendly and helpful, it really depends on who... Recently stayed at Art Factory and had a pleasant stay, especially for the price ($40 for a private room). The hostel is very trendy with a lot of daily activities and the front desk was super helpful in figuring out what to do, asking advice, and setting up activities and taxi rides. The location in San Telmo is good too.... More

Nice hostel, kitchens a bit small but it does the job. Clean enough. A few private bathrooms which is nice. I met a lot of people and had a really nice time here. The Staff are great. Free tango lessons on Wednesday nights were hilarious. The location is good, close to subway and buses and lots of cool bars and... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
