I stayed at Noster Bayres (NB) during my three-week trip to BA. First, NB is situated is a convenient location, steps from the Denfensa strip filled with sights, restaurants, wine shops, antique shops and the San Telmo square. Walk a little further and you'll reach the Centro (downtown BA) where you'll find all types of government buildings and brand-name stores...

We were a group of 8 people. We had reservations - easy to make on the phone and email from the US. The rooms were very comfortable and the location was great. I would highly recommend the B and B and hope to return next year.

I stayed at Noster Bayres for 3 nights in May 2011. The staff became my family the minute I arrived, after being picked up on time at the airport as arranged. As I arrived outside bank hours, they arranged cash so I could go to the local supermarket and get some snacks. Telephone cards and tours were arranged I was...

Noster Bayers is a great little B&B. It’s in a good location on the edge of San Telmo just 10 minutes from the subway (line C, constitucion). There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Our room was clean, bright and simple, but with character (they are themed rooms), the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and linen...

Noster Bayres certainly isn't elaborate. It is an old townhouse, which has been redone in a fairly plain style. It does however offer comfortable rooms and good service. For the $50 US per night that we paid for a room with 3 beds, the value was exceptional. Service at Noster Bayres was very prompt and friendly and the area (San...

Family-run hostel with very few rooms, which gives them the opportunity to get to know their guests and help us with anything we needed. I wanted to surprise my boyfriend and take him to the Boca soccer stadium for a match and they got the tickets for me, transportation etc and kept the secret until the end...!!!! It definitely is...

This place felt like home. I stayed briefly on my way thru to Peru very jetlagged. On my return there was no need to give my name, they knew who I was. The staff were very helpful and when the English speaking staff member was on duty, even better ! Great suggestions for dinner a short walk away. I usually...

A great hotel in a very nice part of B.A. We loved the staff who went out of their way to be of help to us and it was a delight to stay in rooms that were decorated in different themes (we stayed twice on this trip, at the beginning and at the end). Frankly, this hotel should be one...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
