Nice, clean hotel with very nice staff in the heart of San Telmo. Highly recommended by two adults and a 13 yo teenager! Right in front of the door you find the market and many small restaurants, some even with live music. And for all Starbucks lovers: you will be served just around the corner when exiting the hotel.

Stayed 4 days at the hotel. The staff spoke perfect English, was super friendly and helpful. I prefer to walk when visiting new city and found the location very good- it's about an hour walk down to La Boca (don't recommend doing this at night though), Plaza de Mayo is about 30 minutes away. Defensa Street is an interesting place... More

Stayed at the Telhmo Boutique Hotel for 4 days. Staff was helpful and easy-going. Location is perfect...the little square outside the hotel is nice, lots of options for restaurants/shopping within walking distance. Night crowd is out late so some late-evening street "noise" but for us, was fun. Stayed in room 202, balcony overlooking the square. Was a 2-level room, spacious... More

This is a cute little hotel that faces Plaza Dorrego. I read that Sundays are good days to visit the Feria (street market) of San Telmo and see tango in the plaza. Since we were arriving on Sunday, I found this hotel a perfect location for our 1st day in BA. We had 2 twin beds in Room 101, right... More

Small and modern boutique hotel in front of Plaza Dorrego, San Telmo. We stayed on an internal, loft-style room: wardrobe, bathroom & sofa-bed in the first floor, queen bed & TV in the second floor, connected by a wooden staircase. Very clean and with a friendly staff. Good Argentine-style breakfast: coffee, milk, orange (not natural) juice, yoghurt, cereals, white &... More

The hotel is located in the heart of San Telmo, Plaza Dorrego. While you are staying here check out the rooftop terrace; it is very nice, quiet and you get to see Plaza Dorrego from a different perspective. The guys running the hotel are extremely nice and friendly they went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed,... More

The front balcony is perfect for watching the flee market on a Sunday and the Tango during the day. The staff were very helpful, beyond our expectations. The bed was extremely comfortable. Delicious pastries for breakfast. Just don't try to relax on the sunbeds on the roof terrace - they collapse. Fabulous location to enjoy the cafes and night life.

we arrived very early, our room was not ready but we were offered a coffee with sweet bun, so we could relax after long travel. Room was very clean and nice arranged, breakfast standard but tasty. Recently we stayed on 2 occasions at the San Telmho Hotel Boutique, very centrally located (Plaza Dorrego) in Buenos Aires.Major positive aspects are: helpful staff (even for matters they not really involved in (e.g. problems with trips you booked in other argentine cities,...);quiet rooms in a busy environment and last but not least a good price/quality ratio for families e.g. 1... This is a small Hotel located in the interesting San Telmo district, right on the lovely Plaza Dorrego. The entrance is single doorway on Defensa and very easily overlooked. Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
