Modern, yet colourful and full of character. The staff are awesome (you guys rock!). Breakfast is extra, but totally worth it even for this cheapskate. In addition to the usual breads, sweets, and cereals, a mountain of fresh fruit salad, and scrambled eggs too. Superb! The back yard is super cozy for dining al fresco, or just chilling. I like the San Telmo neighbourhood as well- maybe not so glamorous, but lots of character, and walking distance to many interesting sights. Cheap and good eateries abound. I hate to point out the imperfections, as I really love this hostel, but here goes: Whoever installed the sinks (which are outside the en-suite) didn't align the faucets properly, so they'll likely splash or drip on the floor. The air conditioners may blow directly on to one of the top bunks. Good or bad? That's up to you. And ironically, the dorms at the back are noisier that the ones facing the street, due to all the a/c units. To sum it up, when I imagine Buenos Aires, I think of this hostel, and I'm looking forward to returning :-)…
Me and boyfriend are backpacking, and this were the first hostel we stayed on. And also the third, because we decided to come back. This hostel has a great location, nice staff, great common area, a clean hostel and a nice kitchen. The downside to this hotel was the kitchen equipment. Everything there needed a little upgrade. Beside that, we were very happy with our stay there.
Ever since beginning the second of my annual first quarter odysseys on 14JAN2020, I’ve had few firm overnight commitments, which can certainly be quite an adventure in itself as my usual lodging are in hostels (I’ve been a life member of HI-AYH for over 40 years)—almost always unpredictable albeit inexpensive. So imagine how fantastic it was to find this fabulous hostel with a (bottom) bunk bed available 22FEB2020. I was delighted from the get-go when I deboarded a delightful LATAM flight at Jorge Newberry International airport, going outside to the famous Christopher Columbus statue & compass rose, then figuring out [with some help from Argentinans (especially the bus driver!) and a lot of help from google maps!], saving even more dinero! When I arrived at this hostel, I was shocked/amazed at HOW FANTASTIC it was, beginning with receptionist NICOLAS, who not only found me a bunk bed, but a bottom bunk bed! (Important as my body has “aged out” and I can no longer “climb” the ladders. So few steps were required of me to get in the very visibly marked entrance, but a modern lift/elevator was huge—the first I’ve used in a hostel since my January beginning. It is so fantastic!! Then, when I went to my bottom bunk bed, I had a personal light, and UNIVERSAL outlets for my electrics. Additionally, the WiFi is stunningly reliable, the brekkie (250ARS more) very sustaining, “left luggage” great and the personnel EXCELLENT. This is definitely where I will stay whenever I return to the beautiful community; it certainly has my enthusiastic “iWheel of Approval!”…
Pros Hostel is superb and has more of a hotel feel about its ambience and stylings! The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were so helpful and unlike some other customer facing people really did care about you! I loved staying at this establishment and would return in a heartbeat Cons None Overall In San Telmo and a superb place to stay
I took the "basic" option 1 room of 4 beds I stayed 3 weeks in buenos aires and I had 7 or 8 "last" nights in this hostel because of - The price/quality ratio (very good) - The cleanliness (best ever for me) - The staff (Helpful and so friendly) - Atmosphere ( very good balance between opportunitiy to make party and to rest) For all those reasons mentioned below I highly recommend this place to anyone who want to visit Buenos Aires 😊✌️
