We stayed at Hotel Ocho de Octube for 5 days, in a superior room. The room was very clean, normal size. The bathroom was ok, but the door didn't close very well; also, there were curtains that clung in the body durring the shower. Breakfast is not very good (could be more varied). Location could be better (too empty at night), but it's close to the center and Tribunales subway station. Despite the negative points, I would recommend this hotel because of its cost effectiveness.

I stayed here because I wanted to be in the center of the city and I belong to a credit-card point plan that allowed me to use points rather than paying cash. It was a pretty average Buenos Aires hotel -- spare, clean rooms; too much noise from doors and elevators at certain times of day and night. Management was clearly making an effort to keep the place up -- while I was there, workers were painting the lobby, and the carpet had been cleaned recently. One computer in the lobby for free internet access; 2 would've been nice, but most of the time I had access to the computer when I needed it.

Breakfast buffet was average Argentine continental, although the scrambled eggs were good (I really need protein in the morning) and the sweet medialunas quite tasty. Most staff members were friendly, although a few were a little stiff, and it really helped that I spoke decent (not great) Spanish.

Although I wasn't bowled over, I'd probably stay here again. I don't have a huge travel budget, and I loved that the hotel was within walking distance of Recoleta Cemetery, Avenida 9 de Julio, Plaza de Mayo, and the subway.

The 8 de Octubre could benefit from adopting the "green hotel" concept – it was hard to control water flow in the shower, so low-flow shower heads would be ideal, and there’s often no need to replace guests’ towels and sheets each day unless they request it. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Argentina that did this, and it worked great.

Reasonable hotel with perfectly acceptable Wi-Fi speed and coverage.

Room had efficient air conditioning and comfortable bed. On the downside the hot water on some days was only available after 7am – annoying if you want an early shower. Housekeeping also ungenerous with consumables – in fact I had to ask reception for toilet paper on one occasion!

Breakfast was satisfactory and includes scrambled eggs although the coffee was distinctly unimpressive.

Other guests seemed to be all Latin American but reception staff could converse in English adequately well.

Hotel is in a good location close to metro stations and amenities. The immediate streets nearby were quite desolated at night but it did not seem to be particularly dangerous.

Cordialmente, Gustavo Cabero.

Good location, spacious rooms, good noice protection. Staff hardly speaks english, but friendly and could get around. Breakfast is not as good as it could be: the only hot dish - scrambled eggs - is always out. I even tried to come to the very start of the breakfast, but is not there yet. And kitchen staff is not friendly and does not care much about what's going on.

I asked for ease of access for my husband and they didn't tell me that you only enter via stairs with low handrails, very uncomfortable, and to the breakfast room you go down a double staircase, also unsafe. It is not recommended for elderly people. A shame because the staff is excellent

I arrived at the hotel with a good expectation according to what booking offered me. The truth is that from the moment I arrived I felt disappointed, starting with its access system that is quite illogical.
The room is very clean but the pillows are ultra hard, the breakfast is perfect considering the price of the night.

My biggest problem was the noise, absolutely everything spoken in the surrounding rooms can be heard, it is impossible to rest. In addition to a terrible view from the room, the interior patio full of air conditioners is super noisy but the worst thing is that at 8:30am they work hammering and it doesn't let you sleep anymore.
I would not return to this hotel, although the location is quite strategic, unfortunately it has things that did not make my stay very pleasant.
I thank the very friendly staff but they charged me 1,000 pesos to store my suitcase between checkout and an hour after my taxi arrived, in any hotel that is free.

I made a reservation at Hotel 8 Octubre through Booking on March 3, 2023, almost 8 months before my trip, to guarantee a good price.

Reservation for payment at the hotel, upon arrival. On 10/29/23, with less than a month left to travel (11/22), the accommodation canceled my reservation on the grounds that the card provided was invalid. The card informed at the time of check-in was actually invalid, as I exchanged it for another one later, but I informed two others later, all valid, released for international use, without restrictions, I sent a message to the hotel saying that I could charge the reservation in full in advance, however , I received no response and the reservation was simply cancelled.

What it seems is that the accommodation offers a price well in advance and, when the time of use arrives, with the price being much higher, they do their best to cancel.

I asked Booking for intervention, without success. Unfortunately, this is the second time this has happened to me and, in my experience, this platform is no longer reliable.

Horrible experience just trying to accommodate me. I don't recommend it to anyone. It was a cheap deal that will cost me a lot.

It is an old hotel, in an area with good public transport connections, which is being renovated. However, there are some things that are not minor details, such as the condition of the towels (to be discarded)

The hotel is good given its cost. It is in a location with good transport links, you can't hear the traffic, it has been remodeled and updated and is clean. There are careless details, such as the towels, in a dire state, or the extractor fan in a bathroom without any ventilation that does not work, or some pillows as hard as stone.
