Wonderful place to stay. Very calm, although in the heart of San Telmo in a very nice area. Friendly and helpful host with a lot of charme. Ancient architecture combined with modern style and furniture. A boutique design hotel for people looking for a special location to stay. There are rooms for any duration of stay. We really enjoyed our...

Pros: The spaces are beautiful in the minimalist rustic school of design. The brickwork, tall ceilings and open spaces are very charming in this 150+ year-old building. The location in San Telmo is ideal to explore the area. Cons: It was noisy. I had the front-most room and could hear heavy bus traffic until late at night. Also, because of...

La Antigua Casa is a small, very nice and peaceful place in the middle of a very busy city. Brigit has a lot of good tips where to go and what to do. She is a wonderful hostess with a big passion for tango and well-being of the guests.

Beautiful rooms with excellent installations that worked! The beds are heavenly. Lovely breakfast room with delicious typical argentinian breakfast: excellent cafe con leche y medias lunas. Warm and friendly attention. Nicely located close to San Telmo, and yet very quite. Very fast courtesy interenet connection

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
