We have been at the Poetry Building for a week and have enjoyed our stay very much. The building is well located in the heart of Recoleta. The neighborhood feels very safe. It is a 10 minute walk north to the Recoleta cemetery and tothe famous Alvear palace hotel , the Four Seasons Hotel and some upscale shopping. And four...

I lived in BsAs for about a year and a half, 30 years ago, and this was my first time back. My wife and I stayed at the Poetry Building. We could not have been more pleased with the location, staff, cleanliness, and character of the building. Everyone was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I am fluent in Spanish, but my...

The Poetry Building is located in the Recoleta neighborhood. The street was a quiet, one way, two lane street lined with apartments, stores, Tea shop, bakeries, and restaurants. Day or night, it was a safe place to walk. It is two blocks from Santa Fe St which is a main street (a very main street) even more generous with shops...

What a find! We chose this location based on reviews and were very impressed. This renovated historic building features private studio apartments, which have lots of room, are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of many sights of Buenos Aires, including the Recoleta Cemetery, Plaza Francia, Teatro Colon, el centro viejo y Puerto Madero. And...

We read the reviews made our choice and even so were knocked out by this place. Our room 1D was far bigger than we expected with a kitchen area and sizeable bathroom. We could have happily lazed in our room for parts of the day but due to a change to an appointment and a significant alteration to our flight...

I was at the Poetry Building with a friend & I can't wait to go back with my family! The service from the staff was exceptional. We really felt like we had found a special place to stay in BA. It was really handy that they could provide some exchange to the local currency on our arrival. It was in...

This is the first review I've ever written on TripAdvisor but my experience was so good I feel compelled to share. To begin with, the building is perfectly located relative to accessing the many things that Buenos Aires has to offer. You can tell that whoever renovated the building itself took a lot of pride in preserving the old school...

Cozy, chic apartment close to the University of Buenos Aires Medical School. Conveniently located, expertly decorated, comfortable and elegant. European sophistication with modern elegance. The on- site concierges were fabulous, helping with taxis, figuring out best order for a series of events or tours, directions to grocery store, They had a solution for every problem or question I presented that...

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Poetry Building offers 18 exquisite and professionally furnished apartments specifically designed for short-term vacation rental. They are beautifully appointed with all the comforts and amenities you have at home. Poetry is located in Recoleta, one of Buenos Aires' most desired and exquisite neighborhoods, surrounded by parks, cafes, restaurants, and shopping. The building itself evokes the romance that is Buenos Aires. It is firmly rooted in Argentina’s history as the former home of one of its most famous and aristocratic families, the Peralta Ramos. Many of the original architectural lines and much of the beautiful grace of the original 100 year old mansion have been restored. Much effort has been taken to meticulously update Poetry’s interiors to interpret and integrate current trends with modern demands. Our staff speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. We are located in the office on the ground floor of the building. We offer:Privacy without solitude. Luxury without stuffiness or attitude and assistance without intrusiveness. ... more   less
