Every place has pros and cons but on balance this is a 4 because of location and staff. Recoleta is a safe and central district of Buenos Aires with beautiful architecture (although it lost many buildings to the redevelopment in the early 2000's). The Poetry Building retained the facade of the original, french styled building but is new inside. All...

An excellent place to stay in Recoleta, quiet street in BA. Staff was very helpful and location just perfect. Enjoyed the 4th floor patio. It was a great place to enjoy a light dinner outside by the pool. Rooms very well appointed, clean and well decorated which reflected this architectural gem No hesitation to recommend this for your stay in...

We rented three apartments for a family stay in Buenos Aires. You can't ask any more in terms of accommodation, location and concierge helpfulness. In addition they arranged for airport pickups and a variety of payments - advanced and otherwise. In conclusion: we add our rating of excellent to the many already posted. No surprise to see that they got...

Highly recommended boutique hotel/apartments in Recoleta within easy walking distance of superb restaurants and everything you need for a great stay - bakery, market, and breakfast spots. My comments echo kudos from others. We stayed 17 nights in two of the larger units 3B and 1B. Both were very comfortable - the larger bath and better lighting in 3B was...

I recently stayed a week at the Poetry Building after finding it from the internet. It's a very nice place which is well maintained. My room was great and the little pool area is a nice quiet area away from the busy streets. It's clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. My only problem was my wifi was temperamental...

How wonderful it was to spend a few nights in a lovely old aristocratic home that has been restored and contains tasteful furniture We loved the plunge pool and honesty bar. There was a pastry shop a few doors down which complemented the coffee in the room Across the road was a shop selling fresh cooked meals which we used...

If you want to feel like you are living like a porteno (resident of Buenos Aires), Poetry Building is the place to stay. It is a superbly-located, high-quality apartment building in the safe, upmarket neighborhood of Recoleta, only 10 minutes walk from world famous cemetry where Eva Peron and other famous Argentines are buried. There are decent restaurants within walking...

All accommodations are small apartments. So if you are here for three or more nights, this provides enough space to be comfortable. Family owned with a private driver who can take you on day excursions or the airport safely. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is a 5 star experience.

I absolutely love this little apartment hotel conveniently located in Recoleta. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Kudos to the owner/manager for attention to detail and for building a first rate team.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Poetry Building offers 18 exquisite and professionally furnished apartments specifically designed for short-term vacation rental. They are beautifully appointed with all the comforts and amenities you have at home. Poetry is located in Recoleta, one of Buenos Aires' most desired and exquisite neighborhoods, surrounded by parks, cafes, restaurants, and shopping. The building itself evokes the romance that is Buenos Aires. It is firmly rooted in Argentina’s history as the former home of one of its most famous and aristocratic families, the Peralta Ramos. Many of the original architectural lines and much of the beautiful grace of the original 100 year old mansion have been restored. Much effort has been taken to meticulously update Poetry’s interiors to interpret and integrate current trends with modern demands. Our staff speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. We are located in the office on the ground floor of the building. We offer:Privacy without solitude. Luxury without stuffiness or attitude and assistance without intrusiveness. ... more   less
