I had a pleasant stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was close to a number of popular areas.

It's clean, decent, good location, friendly staff - all for a fairly inexpensive price.

We got a room in the first floor and we could hear all the noise from the street and also from the reception. After not sleeping at all at the first night we asked to be moved to another room and we got a room on the 7th floor. The noise was reduced, but still we could hear it.
The carpet floor on both rooms had a lot of stains. The toilet seats on both rooms were old and needed to be changed.
On the first room the mirror on the bathroom was cracked.
On the 7th floor the cleaning started at 8:30am on sunday morning and we could not sleep anymore with the vacuum cleaner noise!
Wi-fi only works at the reception floor.
Breakfast consists of media lunas and toast, ham/cheese, coffee, tea and industrialized orange juice.
The staff at the reception however is very nice and try to help us as they could.

The location was good for me because I had family issues to solve around the Congreso area, but I do not recommend this hotel for tourists, as many of the tourist sites are fram away from the hotel.

My wife (Argentina) and I (USA) had problems leaving Buenos Aires without our infant son (Argentine-born) and had to find a place to stay quick. The friendly night manager at Hotel Ayamitre helped us out big time! We just needed a room for the morning and day, so they didn't even charge us the full fare. He encouraged us to take full advantage of the breakfast, and the central location allowed us to get some last minute errands done quickly. The rooms were old (probably updated last in the 90s), but clean and quiet. I would wager it's the best hotel for the price in the city.

Do not book this hotel, the room was dirty carpet were stained and damp, door would not close with out slaming and then you could not open it. We had booked on line for 10 nights and it looks good on there web site, we stayed 1 night and left did not get any refund and when we spoke with the reception and as soon as they realised we were complaining they conveniently could not speak any english.

The location is very good, the service impeccable, the spacious renovated rooms and the bathroom with a bathtub, which is important considering that it is a 2-star hotel, I would give it 3 since as a travel agent I know about services, box spring beds and air conditioning which few 2 stars have.
Importantly, it does not include breakfast but for only 1400 pesos you can have it, half of what it costs in any bar. WIFI DOES NOT REACH THE ROOMS
Congratulations

Very good hotel, clean, modernized, radiator heating that turns on at night. The WiFi is bad. They have enclosures that isolate it from outside noise, as well as cold and heat. Would go again.
