Pros: 1. Staff - All the staff we encountered were friendly, professional, and helpful including multiple front desk personnel, two different concierges, and cleaning staff. Couldn't ask for better. 2. Location - We found it pretty easy to get around to things. Cabs are cheap, though for some reason Uber can't locate the Intercontinental so you have to drop a pin at the corner or, even better, use Cabify and the cash option to save a bit. 3. Room - Spacious room (we got a standard room, no upgrades) with plenty of area for a (comfy) king bed, dresser, chair, desk, two nightstands and still have room to move or even do some yoga if you like. Hot water in the bathroom got hot fast, and the water pressure in the shower was probably the best we've ever experienced. Good A/C. Cons: 1. Room - As others have said, they could definitely use updating. Visible wear and tear on the furniture, no plugs for phones on the nightstands (which could be easily remedied by new lamps with USB ports on them), the carpet was unbelievably pilly all over, and the bathroom always had a slight smell emanating from the pipes. 2. Housekeeping - The room wasn't dirty by any means, but there were some details that were unfortunately overlooked. Our shower had a fair amount of soap scum on the glass. We found 3-4 ants crawling in the bathroom over our five-night stay. There was no bathmat our first night and apparently face cloths are not provided here. 3. Noise - If your room faces the outdoor patio/bar area (Flora) like ours did, you, too, might be subject to two weddings with loud music that went until 1am and apparently an even louder club-like experience on a Wednesday night (what they call "after office") that supposedly ends at 11pm. We tend to go to bed late so it was OK and not worth asking to be moved after we'd already settled in, but it was a little annoying. 4. Minibar - Welcome letter says coffee, tea, and milk are included. But there's no kettle so how are you supposed to get hot water to make anything? We have found over the last several years that the Intercontinental brand and standards have been in decline--it's not the upscale experience you might have once expected. That said, overall everything was fine if not impressive (and the staff really were great), plus the value for dollar was actually quite good--i.e., better than I would have expected for the ~$150 USD/night we paid. The cons weren't bad enough to keep me away, but there's room for improvement.

As you enter the intercontinental you are greeted by a grand marble lobby and very friendly staff. The location is ten minutes walk from Plaza de Mayo making for an excellent first time hotel in BA. However the hotel would benefit from renovation of the rooms and fitness facilities as they are showing their age both in style and wear & tear. I would also encourage anyone staying to make a reservation for Flora bar as we tried to go for a drink at 7pm on a Friday and wee told it was full. There is another indoor bar that had space though not as lovely as Flora is outdoors in the courtyard.

Awesome stay. Great location. Such friendly staff and excellent service. The outdoor courtyard and lounge area on the ground floor is a lovely place to work, rest and play. Swimming pool was very well managed. Clean and with a lifeguard.

My stay at intercontinental was excellent. The building is amazing and very well located. I used the free shuttle service to and from nearby restaurants which was amazing. Very good and convenient idea. The rooms are a bit old, but that's usually Intercontinental's hotels styles around the world. I am giving this review 4 starts due to the breakfast. The service was slow and food wasn't being restocked. I went to eat 1 hour before it closed and there was a lot of food lacking. I am a Chef at Intercontinental hotel in Australia and this type of service in a breakfast is not acceptable.

We have 3 stays at the Intercontinental Buenos Aires and I must say, I feel embarrassed to have taken so much advantage of this amazing team. The Concierge crew acted as travel agents for our trips to Ushuaia, El Calafate and Montevideo. They did everything for us. Thank you, Ruben, Christian and Pablo. The F&B team was equally lovable. I had a problem: My wife liked the hotel so much, that I got into troubles to get her out of the hotel.... This says it all. Thanks to the GM, who put an amazing crew together and himself- is so accommodating. A true host and professional!

Not only a very quiete place but also one of the most friendly staff we have ever met. Since the very moment you enter Intercontinental everything goes smooth. Staff is quite professional and kind at the same time. They make you feel appreciated. It was the end of Winter vacations, so our grandson{s could enjoy the Playground the Hotel has organized. It was a great idea and the three of them- from 7 to 1- enjoyed their time. Swimming pool is nice. An special mention to Restaurant: as it was my husband´s birthday and having little boys with us, we decided to have dinner at the hotel. The service understood our need to have kid´s meal as soon as possible and eveything was delicious. As the one year´s old kid was crying, their parents decided to go upstairs in the middle of the dinner. Restaurant staff did not hesitate to prepare room service for them. Breakfast has many choices and now, again in second floor, it is served in a beautiful room. Hope we will be back.

Wonderful stay. Super clean , staff trained very well. Chamber made didn’t take tip, had to leave a note that it was for her. They some how found a small black cable that was really important to me and tracked me down upon check out. In addition I own a small boutique hotel so I’m different than the average guest but was very pleased. Saludos
