The Bisonte Palace Hotel, despite its name is a mid-level establishment with rooms that are a bit uncomfortable and old-fashioned. However, the staff is friendly and helpful and I did not have any problems during the stay. The breakfast buffet is good. And the best part is the location within short walking distance to Florida street with all the shops.

I have stayed in two occasions lately and am happy to have stayed there. Service is good as well as wifi in room.Breakfast is abundant and fresh.Room is average size. Acceptable. I suggest that you ask for rooms in the upper floors so as not to have noises as hotel is in a square of two important streets. For daytime...

Staid with my wife at this hotel this week (end of April 2015) after spending days in Southern Chile and Argentina. Location of this place is very central. There are many good Hotels in this locality few yards apart.. Restaurants, bars, convenience stores, are available within few yards. Booked via Lamma tour agent for standard double bed room. Reception and...

I stayed here for a short period on my way for trip to Iguazu Falls. This is a nice place in city center. Everything is very close from this hotel -- main shopping area, theater halls, movie halls, etc. The main bus terminal is close by. I could take the bus to airport. The staff are very nice and helpful....

Travelling on our honeymoon, we tried to check in early and were refused. When we finally spoke with the reception manager, she said that there were no rooms available (without even checking the availability) and check in was at 1pm. When we spoke to someone else we were told that we can possibly have a room for 11am but this...

I stayed here for 3 nights during a 10 day tour of Argentina and Brazil. I feel this hotel was adequate for a short stay. You could say its cheap and cheerful with the decor in the room I was in a bit dated but personally that kind thing doesn't bother me, as long as the bed is comfortable and...

I had stayed at Bisonte Palace twice before and the experience was excellent. This time I was disappointed. The suite was in no conditions to lodge tourists. The door didn't close properly, the toilet lid was broken, the bed was absolutely uncomfortable and the TV didn't work. My wife is an asthmatic and the strong smell of chlorine in the...

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff on reception were completely rude and unhelpful upon my arrival here. Also the rooms are old fashioned! The location is good, but I would suggest looking elsewhere as it is very easy to get around Buenos Aires anyhow either on foot, by bus, metro or taxi.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
