The amenities were there, the bathroom was great but all this was spoiled by a bed that sagged so much a good night's sleep evaded me. Spacious room with a great view of the grounds. Great Continental Breakfast

We stayed here one night, courtesy of Princess Cruise Line when our ship arrived late (due to an illness). This hotel was far more luxurious than our previous two nights at the Claridge Hotel. Both are rated 5-stars and this one really fits that distinction. The downside to this hotel is that the location is kind of sketchy after dark...

Rooms are large and comfortable with very nice bed. I was exhausted after long travel from Ireland, and appreciated flopping down on the bed. My stay for one night was part of a package to Antarctica, so I was resting ahead of the remainder of the journey, and didn't interact much with the other hotel facilities. It all seems very...

Excellent location for walking to other sites. Lovely outside garden bar. Nicely appointed rooms. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was as expected but not exceptional. A number of restaurants are nearby,

We booked two rooms together which worked out great as it had a connecting corridor with plenty of space, rooms were clean and well equipped, I had problems with the wifi and when I spoke to the staff they gave me a code to sort it quickly. The location is ok but if you want to be closer to the...

The rooms were comfortable, there were nice facilities, (pool and gym), adequate breakfast, cheerful service, restaurants nearby but not located in the main area of the city. Still enjoyed our short stay with our tour group.

We had two separate stays at the Emperador Hotel Buenos Airs in the past month, prior to our Iguazu Falls visit and afterwards, on our way to Patagonia. The Emperador Hotel is located in a safe area, at the Retiro section - close to St. Martin Square and Recoletta. The room size was above average; good breakfast, and friendly staff....

We had two one-night stays here on the way to and returning from an Antarctic cruise. In nearly all aspects we were very satisfied with our visit here. The hotel may be old but it is in excellent condition and shows no signs of age or deterioration; it does not look or feel old. Our room was spacious and comfortable,...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
