Ok so the first thing I am going to say is do NOT stay this hotel. We only stayed here because of hertigruten (a company who do Antartic tours). I have several things to say, starting with the bad ones: 1: Check-in took at least half an hour and there were only two desks and one was open and we... More

I spent 5 nights at this classy hotel in early March 2012. I booked the standard room which was a very good size room on the 4th floor and had a wonderful bathroom. My view of Libertador Ave was good but I am sure there are other rooms in higher floors with much better ones. The restaurant I used only for... More

Wonderful rooms, wide, clean, nice classic furniture, with very comfortable bathrooms and imposing views of the Northern part of town and the Rio de la Plata. Remarkable dinner and very good breakfast. Garden is so nice, brides go to take photos before the wedding. Excellent attention. Modern building, very well situated.

This hotel is very nice, the rooms are very comfortable and great space. The Bathroom was very clean and very clear. The restaurant was a little menu but very good. The rooms rates are expensive but this price is valuable. Near of train station and neighbor Recoleta and Barrio Norte.

The hotel is good, rooms are good, front desk staff is not very friendly they have to improve attitude. Breakfast is too expensive, 120 pesos (26 USD) is crazy.

The Emperador is really a lovely place to hang one's hat while enjoying Buenos Aires. The room rate is reasonable, especially when one consider's the large size of the room/bath and the central location. The place is spotless and the staff are helpful and friendly. It is a very comfortable place to stay. However, all other services are vastly over... More

Another functional chain hotel with an enormous bedroom and bath room. Location was good but breakfast very middle of the range. Such a shame as the view over the lovely garden asked for better food to match the view. So better than average but resting a little on its laurels

This hotel is very well located in BA- and is a good value. Not a super high-end property- but a very clean, comfortable and well run hotel with a lovely hidden garden and terrace behind the dining room. A nice spot to unwind after touring. There's a fantastic empanada restaurant (really a little hole in the wall- that does a... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
