Good location, great service. Breakfast is great, enough to skip lunch. Solid 2.5 stars. 12 minute walk to subway, 5 min to Florida. For dinner try Natasha restaurant 50 yards away. Air conditioning not there but it was not a problem for us. Currency exchange is available at reception at an acceptable rate.

We spent over a week at El Conquistador. Centrally located near Florida Street and 9 July Avenue. Also close to many other attractions. For lunch or dinner there are 2-3 restaurants within 100 yards or less. Grocery store right across from the hotel. If you want to buy bottled water you can pay 16 Peso for 2 litre bottle of...

We have booked a double bed, however we were accommodated in a room with 2 old single beds. The mattress was horrible and the blankets were dirty. Although the hotel communicate they have wi-fi definitely it was not working.

My husband and I stayed at El Conquistador for 9 nights while visiting Buenos Aires and the surrounding areas. For the price, the hotel was a great option for us. We wanted to save money on our hotel so that we could spend money on food, souvenirs, etc. This hotel is a little older, but it has everything you need....

Stayed here for the majority of our week in BA. Good value, clean, polite/friendly staff, and within walking distance to downtown attractions such as the National Congress and Pink House. Cons: Internet was slow at times and frequently dropped (so we would have to login numerous times in an evening). If you are attempting to work it could be an...

Stayed there for the night only. The hotel is in a great location, and it looks very nice. Room was ok. Breakfast was buffet style, which is always good, and included in the reservation (around $50 on expedia). Wifi was free.

Martin and the other front staff were great. Very helpful with directions, booking cabs to and from the airport, and allowing a late check-out. It was nice to be greeted at the airport with a car that could fit our family and luggage. Breakfast was included in our reservation and included the typical fare-eggs, potatoes, meats, cheeses, fresh fruits and...

The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that their lobby looks better in person than in pictures on the web. It looks dated, but there is certain grandeur to its wooden floor and gold railings. Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
