Well to start of the rooms are very simple, but quite charming in a way. The problems I had with this hotel is that the breakfast is literally just a big buffet of sweets, pastries and coffee. In every other hotel I stayed in, there was much more selection, such as meat, sausages, eggs and what have you. Another problem...

Much has already been said about Buenos Aires as a tourist destination, the rivalry between Brazil and Argentina and the supposed arrogance of the people that live in Buenos Aires. I never visited Buenos Aires before and being born in Brazil, I was expecting to be received poorly... But some things you have to see for yourself. Buenos Aires seemed...

Our LAN flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia was canceled on 11th March, 2015 and they provided this accommodation. As it was a free room given by LAN, we were given a very lousy, rundown, basic room with no views at all! The bathroom was pathetic as one cannot enter and close at the same time! We were provided meal...

I too was shuttled here for a cancelled 767 flight but my experience was far from ideal. I don't think I've every stayed at a noisier more uncomfortable hotel than here. The rooms looked and felt dirty, the bed linens too. Once the lights were turned off, so did the AC. And to top it off, no singles existed and...

The hotel location, on Cerrito Ave is very good and its breakfast is very rich! There are some rooms that still need to be updated. The staff is friendly although they have made some confusion with our reservation. The charged me twice for the same booking.

I would have rated poor but after getting an allready open bottle of wine to the table it deserves terrible. We were booked here by aerolineas argentinas after a canceled flight. From outside it looked fancy, from inside is too fancy, decoration is old, overly badly maintained. Our roomed stinked like cigarettes and the restaurant service is embarrassing... They just...

We had a two-room suite on the top floor with a spectacular view of the Obelisk and the main avenue. All of the windows opened with fresh air coming in and not too much noise. You can turn off the heat in each room. Yes, you hear the plumbing noise from rooms nearby but otherwise the hotel is very quiet....

The hotel is very old and it´s extremely hotel inside the room eventhough it´s winter. The hotel has a central heating system and although we don´t use it the room is still hot. The windows don´t open completely so you can´t get fresh air also. Lastly there´s someone´s house in front of my window, which makes me have to close...

We, too, arrived at 4:30 am with a 767 load from a broken United flight. I expected the worst, but was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable beds, quiet, even though across from elevator. You COULD hear plumbing noise, but not room noise. Good AC. Surprisingly good breakfast and lunch. They clearly rely on airline screw ups (good business plan) not repeat customers...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
