The Pestana Hotel Buenos Aires had its best times in the years 2005 to 2010. A lot of time has passed ever since and the Hotel is in a pityful state. The rooms are dirty and ruined. Carpets in the hallway are full of spots and dirt. We arrived late at night and no help or caddy was offered to help us with your 6 luggages. Arrival at the room left us shocked. To be able to enter the bathroom I had to wipe the floor first. Everything is really dirty, filthy and old. It made us sad to see how a once proud Hotel is falling apart. The pillows were old and full of yellow spots. Plugs broken, hair everywhere, old and dirty towels, dirty windows.... the list goes on. The next day, we asked for a change of towels, as we used them to clean the floor and bathtub. But the cleaning service made only our beds, took the dirty towels and left. The floors were still full of hair and no new towels or soap were left. Of course, after explicitly asking for some new towels at the reception we were given some. But from a 4 Star Hotel I expect more. More cleanliness, more service and more Style. Expectation vs reality is shocking. The Pictures Pestana Hotel is advertising with have nothing to do with what it really is. The pool area was kind of nice, even though it is lacking maintenance too. The pool and spa area opens only from 11a.m. to 8 p.m. A relaxing swim in the morning or after a long day of work or shopping is therefore not possible. Why would anyone waste the precious daylight on a vacation day on a swim in the dark and stuffy basement? Breakfast is also not worth the money. Juice is not fresh juice (tastes like TANG). The rest is mediocre. Fruit Salat tasted rotten... There is possibility to get quality food and fresh orange juice only a couple of meters away from the hotel. A Starbucks is just around the corner. Altogether a very disappointing experience…
Our stay was very pleasant. Our greeting and support from reception Emiliano Abregu who answered our questions was very helpful during our trip. In total we stayed 12nights in the hotel. The breakfast was a bit difficult for me as I require Gluten Free (TACC) the first two mornings I got breakfast GF cereal. Lots of cookies offered but not much else other than bread. I lived on bananas! A lot. The restaurant could only offer a chicken dish GF again no choice for GF dining. Such a shame
Clean, beautiful, personal was amazing and we had a great time! The room was organized and they gave us champagne and chocolates for our wedding night. We had a great time, everything was flawless! Highly recommended
Stayed here twice on the same trip - 3 nights at the beginning of our trip and the last 5 nights in Argentina. Great location, right on Ave. 9 Julio - 5 minute walk from the Obelisk and almost across the street from Teatro Colon. Easy walking to most places in the city - but if you need/want a taxi to take you instead, they get one for you right to the door very quickly. Front desk staff, very helpful with suggestions of what to visit and how to get there. Lobby restaurant serves the included buffet breakfast (good variety, quickly replenished and tasty). It also has a small bar menu for snacks during the day and a larger menu for dinner (we used all of the above during our stays). Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Indoor, heated pool, sauna and hot tub was a great way to end a day of walking to visit Buenos Aires. Rooms are starting to show a need for renovating, but would still definitely stay here on a return visit and definitely recommend.…
The location of the hotel is quite good, hotel needs some renew on bathroom (mold everywhere) but the room itself was renewed already. My room was facing the other buildings (pictures attached) so it was not a good view. Breakfast is good, but try to go early because sometimes it is full of people. Housekeeping is alright, but sometimes they forgot to clean the trash bins. Gym is not good, one machine and very very rusty. No maintenance at all. My biggest complain is the laundry service: Clothes came smelling very very bad (smoke smell, like cigarrete). The second time I sent clothes to laundry I added "good smell, not neutral" and it came good. 3rd and 4th time the came smelling very bad again. Not sure if they have a contract with a 3rd party company for laundry, but it worth going after this company to see if they are really washing and drying in a "smoke allowed" zone...…
Clean and comfortable and very convenient. The staff are extremely professional and very polite. The breakfasts were always full of healthy options to eat with fresh fruit a staple. With the hotel centrally located, we could walk to a great many of the city's finest attractions.
This is another one of those hotels that ticks all the boxes, plus more. It represents great value for money even though it is getting a little ‘tired’, but that is not a problem when the rooms are clean, large and comfortable. We stayed twice and had rooms overlooking the 9th De Julio. The location is excellent and the staff not only friendly and helpful but happy to have a laugh and good natured jokes when assisting you with the many questions and enquires. This is one of those hotels where you say to yourself, “ Why spend big money on a 4 to 5 star hotel when you can stay in a place like this and enjoy it ?”
We were overnighting and changing airport in BA and were happy to sray in Pestana. Hotel is nothing special but price to quality ratio was excellent! Breakfast was great and staff helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Pestana Buenos Aires for five days and we really enjoyed every single day. Good rooms, nice views and excellent location in the center of Buenos Aires. Breakfast, bar and restaurant are good indeed.
I stayed here twice. The very early breakfast (black coffee and a mini croissant) was very much appreciated just before leaving for my early morning flight. The 2nd time I stayed here I had a normal breakfast - really nice with plenty of choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and genuinely interested in my trip (single traveler looking for birds). I will certainly stay here again when I return to Argentina. The international airport is about 30 minutes away, the domestic only 10 minutes.
