It was really annoying that the kitchen was meant to be open until 3, and it says this on a sign, even though every day they decide different times to stop serving food - sometimes it could be 12, sometimes 1 and sometimes there is no food. The internet comes and goes all the time. Some of the staff are... More

I stayed dozens of hostels everywhere but never seen an decent and honest place like there. Rooms/dorms are OK. Some comes with A/C and private bathroom. But this is an stressfree place there was a lot of space, a lot of bathroom and lots of thing you need which you can find. Simple but OK breakfast. Front desk was very... More

The staff at Milhouse Hipo spoke most languages between them and couldn't have been more helpful. The bigger Hostel Milhouse Avenue was only 5 minutes away on foot and had a representative there who could help with any or all of your onward travel needs. Even though it is a party hostel, we didn't hear any of that, but could... More

We are a couple who spend 5nights at Millhouse hippo. It's location is excellent! Beside a tram and walking distance to San Telmo. We made lots of friends at the hostel and we partied a lot! Having said that you don't have to while your there. The dorm was huge! And it's very clean all the time! Only thing I... More

Milhouse offers an amazing amount of activities and excursions, which is excellent for the unorganised traveller such as me who just turns up in a city and hopes they will discover things to do. It is a party hostel, every night there is a party at one of the two milhouse hostels, starting at 11pm, with transport to a club... More

The hostel is in an amazing location right by the obelisk. There are lots of outings organised such as polo, walking tours, tango etc and it's cheaper than going direct. The hostel is very clean and good value for money which includes a generous breakfast (400 pesos for a private room a night). The 24 hour security at the door... More

First and foremost if you want to meet people this place pretty much guarantees you will genuinely encounter plenty of other backpackers. This doesn't mean that they will be the ideal type of person you'd like to socialise with however. Milhouse is a party hostel and as such it attracts the party type, (the fixed term holiday), the solo backpacker... More

Good location. Otherwise, not my kind of hostel. Bedrooms good size and good lockers. Could do with new mattresses. Bathrooms not very clean and poor kitchen facilities so didn't really feel equipped to cook here. Staff just about answered your questions (after leaving you standing there waiting a few minutes) and I didn't find them overly welcoming or friendly. Didn't... More

Milhouse Hipo is a mix of a few things, some very good some "just ok". First of all, it is a party hostel, there's always people drinking and seeking for fun. It is not a place to just "go to sleep", neither is a cultural hostel. With that on mind, I was impressed of the clean and organized place the... More

Ruined by a really bad attitude from staff/management and indifference. If you're coming to Milhouse expecting the quality of Loki hostels, you're going to be very disappointed. Two guys were robbed at gunpoint near the docks immediately after checking out, passports, cameras - all gone. When they came back to the Milhouse without their passports, they were told they were... Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
