Yet, there were a number of problems. Cleanliness wasn’t great. The rooms aren’t serviced daily which means that they need an even deeper clean on changeovers and I’m not sure they get this. I felt uncomfortable leaving my clothes in the closet as it was not clean. The safe in the room wasn’t working. There was a fridge, but this was barely functional and certainly didn’t keep beer or water cold. The bathroom was covered in mould and needs a really deep clean both of the surfaces and the vent. This meant that towels didn’t dry. The hotel charges a fee of USD6 or ARS1600 for a towel change and this is essential given the extremely bad humidity in the bathroom. I left with the impression of a property that needs a lot of attention – the swimming pool also looks derelict.
That said, I would consider staying again simply because of the flexibility and the location – although there are other hotels nearby.

Having a small kitchen and dining area was really nice. The bathroom was larger, and the water pressure better than anywhere else we experienced on our 3 country, 6-city trip. Though physical staffing at the building was limited, virtual service was available. And we appreciated that the desk was able to hold our luggage until 5pm on the day we checked out.
The only real hassle was that we didn't understand before we arrived that this is a fully digital access property with limited staffing. So we were confused at first when we arrived and there was no one physically present (we spoke with someone on a video monitor and it was a bit hard to understand through an intercom), and then once we understood the situation, we had to wait ~10 minutes for someone to arrive and begin the check-in process. My understanding is still that someone was actually *supposed* to be present at the reception desk at the hour we arrived (~7pm), but we were told on arrival that the one receptionist covers two buildings in the neighborhood. Not a huge deal, and knowing this wouldn't have changed our choice to book here (the digital access was nice once we had it), but it would have been helpful if they'd laid this out clearly from the start. It would have eliminated the initial confusion we had upon arrival.
The courtyard was nice, but the pool was visibly dirty, so we didn't use it.

The hotel rooms, which are serviced daily, are furnished studio apartments with a queen bed, bathroom and a kitchenette that is sufficiently equipped that one could fix a simple meal if so inclined. The dining area has a table and seating for four.
Our room rate included breakfast. The hotel, though, has no on-site restaurant. At check in they gave us tickets that could be redeemed for breakfast at some restaurants in the Recoleta Mall.
The staff are very helpful but communication can be hard as they only speak Spanish. We managed to get by with our limited Spanish and their broken English.

Location: The hotel is located in the Recoleta area, adjacent to the Village entertainment complex and across the street from the famous Recoleta cemetary. It is a short 2 minute walk to the main restaurant row where there is a wide variety of cafes, bars and parillas. Next door to the hotel, Romarios served the best pizza and baked empanadas until the late hours.
The hotel: The hotel is only a few months old, and has about 35 units, 4 per floor. Our room was in the back of the hotel, from where we had an impressive view of the cemetary. The rooms are spacious, with wood floors, modern furnishings, a kitchenette with stovetop, microwave, sink and fridge, and a nice bathroom with shower/tub, toilet, bidet and modern sink. There was also a dining table and chairs, and a decent size closet with a safe. Plenty of areas to set up a laptop or to work from, and high speed internet was available either in the room with your own laptop or downstairs in the lobby on one of the two hotel computers. On the top floor was a gym and sauna, and downstairs was an outdoor pool and hot tub. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but the front desk provided vouchers to use at one of several nearby cafes for breakfast. We ate several times at Los Portenos, just a few doors down and the food was very good.
The service and attention we received while staying at the hotel were second to none. The manager Romina, was always available to help, and she and her staff of front desk, bellman, handyman and housekeeping went above and beyond our expectations to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
We cannot wait to return to Buenos Aires again soon and will definitely stay at Ayres Recoleta again. We were sad to leave and say goodbye to all the wonderful staff who made us feel like family, but look forward to returning in the near future.

the hotel setting is prob the best location in the city. convenient to all the barrios. your breakfast hangout is LOS PORTENOS next door and you can grab a red beer or a clarita at LOCO POR FUTBOL bar outside the modern mall across the the street!
as some have said yes its true they are building a new condo addition next door at the moment and there was a little noise at times, but who the heck is staying in their room during the day on vacation??? besides it was nothing anyways!
i'd go back to ayers again in a heartbeat. it make lack hotel faena cache, but its not stuck in isolated puerto madero where you have to cab evrywhere like that hotel is! just forget hotel bobo or faena and go here. fyi -- we paid around $80/night.
also fyi, the weather was in the low 50's at night and upper 60's midday at this time of year -- BsAs has some palm trees so winter is mild.
My room was clean and nicely maintained. I agree that a sofa or chair would be a nice addition instead of the cradenza and dining table that part of the apartment side of this operation.
Construction of the adjacent apartment building is complete. Noise is not a big issue but I must acknowledge that this is a big party district and there is noise until 3 or 4 in the morning with a short respite before other traffice starts up again.
Food is abundant! There is a range of fast foods in the food court of the theatre complex on the corner.
If you head towards the Recoleta Cemetary (less than 3 blocks walk), there are many restaurants of high quality. I can not recommend Lola highly enough -- this is truly great food although the Portenos do seem to avoid spiciness with a vengeance. Freddo down the block is the source of lovely ice creams.
The Buenos Aires Design Center is just beyond the Cemetary. It has many excellent design shops on both levels, many nice restaurants and the Hard Rock Cafe. There is an interesting flea market in this park on the weekends.
I loved this place. I'm glad a nice percentage WILL NEVER GO BACK.
And yes, I paid US$80 plus VAT!
Hotel has no restaurant. Bathrooms are tiny. Construction next door is noisy. Hotel has no services at all, except for maid service and a small pool.
Location is in the middle of the Recoleta "barrio", but do you really want to be in the middle of all the noise till 3 am ?
We were sent to this hotel by our tour company, some people of our group were sent to a hotel in another part of town, which was more quiet and nicer.

I had commented to a concierge that I wanted to find a T-Shirt for a certain beer, which surprisingly enough was very difficult to find. He called his family who reside in the town where the brewery is located and had me two shirts from the factory store two days later.
This place is a gem for those who would appreciate a similarly hip spot in San Francisco, NYC, Paris or Barcelona.
