I booked the hotel because of the good location. The location and the breakfast are the only positive thing about this hotel. The staff speaks hardly English, the establishment is certainly still from the 60-s . And the old ragged carpet is out of date. Also, the bathroom is ancient and not the cleanest I have seen during the 3 week in South America. URGENTLY IN NEED OF RENOVATION!!! FAZIT: Location and breakfast very good, the rest not.
The location of this hotel is its only virtue. The hotel is very poorly maintained. 3 elevatores for 15 floors, and one of them is almost always out of order. Most of the stuff don't speak Enlish. The rooms' floor is covered with old and unattended to carpets, which leaves and unpleasany smell all the time. The windows are not noise proof and there is contant noise from the traffic below. We stayed there 3 nights only because it was already prepaid. We shall never return to this hotel and we highly advise everyone not to go there.
It was a quick 3 days trip to BA. My friend and I needed a centric, affordable place to crash and sleep as we were out most of the day. After a very long trip MEX to MIA, 10 hour layover and then MIA to EZE we really needed to take a shower and change to head out. It was noon and they offered an early check out for 400 ARS. A bit pricey to me considering we paid 800 a night, 400 for 3 hours was too much but anyway we paid it. The WiFi on the lobby works fine, the one on the room was terrible. On and off all the time. And that was even when the gentleman at check in said that floor had one of the “most acceptable WiFi connection, cause all around the hotel floors is not so great”. So even their staff knowing their WiFi sucks would worry more than one when you check in. The elevators are super small, I got stuck once and it wouldn’t come down anymore. The rooms are a good size, good amenities for the price paid. Comfortable beds and the mini bar was appreciated. It was just old all over but somewhat well kept. Water had good pressure and always hot when needed. Breakfast was basic. They have powdered eggs and one day they had sausages, then the rest are cold items and bakery. Cereal, croissants, yogurt, juices and coffee. The location is perfect. We went to San Telmo, Plaza San Martin, the obelisk, Calle Florida, Puerto Madero and the BA tour bus walking only. Never had to use transportation but to and from the airport. Overall good value for the money. You get what you paid for and that’s it. …
Hotel Conte is in a great Location, just blocks to the obelisco, downtown, and most of the famous locations in Buenos Aires. Excellent attention to its guests, very helpful staff, they were able to hold our bags after checkout for a bit, all in all a great choice to book a stay to visit Buenos Aires.
I have stayed at the Conte since 2006 whenever I am in Buenos Aires. Good value, huge rooms, friendly, attentive staff. Good, ample breakfast. Sometimes crowded, since it is popular with the Brazilian tourists. Excellent location ( 3 blocks from the obelisco. Call ahead for reservations. Drawback: In the middle/near of most demonstrations! Good parking across the street in direction of ezeiza airport.
