Five Cool Rooms won't blow you away with grandeur and luxury but it's clean, easy and in a great spot to enjoy Palermo's shops and restaurants. The rooms are small but comfortable and the staff are generally friendly and helpful, plus the hot tub on the roof is a nice touch and a good place to unwind with a beer.

We walked past the door, twice, before finding the anonymous entrance. Nice common areas, specially the roof area for breakfast with the small pool. The room had a strong smell and was rather small and not that pleasant. Hotel service was ok, until we asked them to arrange a taxi to the airport. We got a private driver, even though...

Little places llike this always come with trade-offs. I happen to love the trade-offs of this one. If location is your thing, grab this one. Walk out the door and Soho awaits. If safety and feeling secure is your thing, ditto. If common areas are your thing, ditto. The first floor has a reading room and a huge courtyard with...

The location is good in trendy Palermo Soho and the reception is warm. However, the small room was almost filled by a comfortable bed with good linen; nowhere to put luggage and nowhere to sit comfortably. The bare (yes bare) polished concrete floor looked dirty and stained. A quick check revealed that it was dirty and stained and a good...

Five Cool Rooms is a pleasant place to stay. Location is perfect, in the heart of Palermo Soho. Staff is friendly and efficient in making you feel at home. It´s a real boutique hotel, where you´re not just a room number.

The room was attractive and modern with a lovely bathroom. Too bad the hot water never came on. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooftop deck and breakfast area were very beautiful. Right in the middle of things in Palermo. Still, with all the hotels we stayed in this one was the most expensive and way down the...

Compared to the other options we had when booking our stay in BA, I suppose that we should have expected less. Still, it's not like this place was dirt cheap, so we were shocked when we were led to our room and it was TINY! We almost had to shimmy our way in and our luggage basically just fit within...

Found this place via a combination of personal recommendation (a local friend) and a good write up in The Guardian Travel section. We were not dissappointed. This was my first time back to Buenos Aires after a 15 year absence and whilst much has changed, Palermo Soho is still the best place to base yourself I reckon. Five Cool rooms...

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Despite the checkin time was 2 pm, my girlfriend and I arrived at 6 am at Ezeiza airport. At 7 am I was at the hotel door guessing what would I do until 2 pm to get in the room. To my surprise, the front desk guy said "you room is ready". It...

We tend to use CNTraveller as our hotel guide of choice and were quite excited when our taxi pulled up in what was clearly one of BA's funkier areas. However, on being buzzed through the non-descript front door I was at a loss to understand how it ever made it on to their list, as the hotel has nothing to...

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
