The lovely lady at the premises keeps the place really clean and tidy, which is always welcome. Wifi good and Breakfast was basic but nice (including FRESH bread). Located in the heart San Telmo, you couldn't be situated in a cooler neighbourhood with plenty of options for food and drinking. Arriving late, however, the hostel address is wrong on booking...

I stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed my stay. Location is really great, in San Telmo, though note that the hostel and hotel are in different locations - I believe the hotel is at 556, but if you go to the address listed at 579 they will direct you there. Room was nice with a good bed -...

The owners don't let people in before 8.30 am or after 9.00 pm unless they are a registered guest with a key (no 24 hour reception) which is a bit crap but you might be able to arrange late/early check-in via email. The rooms, however are really, really nice - superb, in fact - like a hotel. It's clean and...

We stayed here for 5 nights and our overall experience wasn't too bad. The address they give is wrong (it's actually across the street) but the staff are friendly (only Maria speaks English, but the elderly owner is an absolute sweetheart.) San Telmo offers a good base to explore the rest of Buenos Aires, with the area having lots of...

Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and a decent size. The place was conveniently located in San Telmo. We stayed just one night because we had already booked out other nights somewhere else. Shared bathrooms are clean and modern. Breakfast was simple but good.

Very good location but before renting the room you have to check it out. They have one room with bathroom but without window (no window!!!) and some rooms with shared bathroom have the view into the street, some into the backyard. Brakfast is really poor. Internet connection sometimes breaks down. Very comfortable bed. Nice staff but you have to speak...

Pros: Good location, friendly staff, comfortable and clean bathrooms. Cons: No air conditioning in our room. No windows except of the terrace door. People are walking around on that terrace, and it can get noisy. You are not supposed to open the door, but we did it anyway, because we felt suffocating in +30 heat with no air conditioning or...

This hostel was awful. Ants all over the bathroom, dirty rooms and ants in our bed when we woke up. I would not recommend at all. This hostel was awful. Ants all over the bathroom, dirty rooms and ants in our bed when we woke up. I would not recommend at all.

Stayed here two nights and only payed 500 Arg pesos for a double room with shared bathroom (expensive in general, well-priced for buenos aires!). Bathrooms are very very nice, almost hotel-like, breakfast isn't that great but loads of other options (cafés) around the corner. Great location and good-working wifi. Would definitely come here again!

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
