Leo and i were on a trip back to BAs for two weeks to visit his family nearby and stayed here for 11 nights. We chose Tesorito because it looked and sounded from reviews somewhere a little quirky. We weren't disappointed. Beautiful colours, paintings, lovely furniture and a sweet little walled garden were exactly what we were hoping for. We weren't to know though, that our hosts would be so helpful, kind and unobtrusive. Fernanda and Ahmed essentially let us use their lovely home while remaining in the background if we needed them. The breakfasts were a delicious Arge/Euro mix and always very fresh. Just forget that diet until you get home :) Special thanks from me for supplying soya milk too. Others have already described the brekkie in detail so i won't.
The rooms were all scrupulously clean, the bed was comfy and the bedding was changed regularly. We both slept better than usual here! Do bring earplugs for Friday/Saturday nights in BAs though. Oh, and as Leo had passport business to attend to he was very glad of the little safe. We also made good use of the fridge in the bedroom, where there is plenty of storage space. We were supplied with bathrobes/dressing gowns and slippers as well as the regular towel change. Although we'd brought our own hairdryer, there is a good one there.
Lots of books/Cd's/DVD's and two TV's enabling Leo to watch his beloved River games live. Aircon in the bedroom/free local calls. Hope this is helpful to other prospective guests. We'd have no hesitation in returning to this lovely accommodation with such kind hosts and set in a pleasant area of the city. Laura and Leo, New Forest, England

After the hustle and bustle of the World Cup in Brazil, our group of four were looking forward to our 5 days in Buenos Aires after hearing so much about the city and also of Tesorito Bed & Breakfast.

We had booked on the recommendation of some friends who had stayed at Tesorito a year or so ago and we were certainly not disappointed. It was everything they, and the Tripadvisor reviews had described, and more. From the perfect central location, to the beautifully decorated rooms, and the now famous breakfasts, our expectations were not only met, but exceeded.

Ahmed and Fernanda are a fantastic couple who were there to answer all our questions about how best to explore Buenos Aires so that we could make best use of our time. As mentioned in previous reviews, they remained unobtrusive but available to answer all our queries, and of course serve the wonderful breakfast that fuelled us for our daily sightseeing. When we returned from our days out and about, the beds had been made, towels had been changed, and the common areas spotless.

It's the little things that make this place so special. One of our group mentioned that we liked avocadoes after seeing the huge avocado tree in the back courtyard. While we were out exploring Buenos Aires, Fernanda had whipped up a bowl of guacamole and had the guacamole and a packet of corn chips waiting for us when we returned. The next morning we had avocadoes on the table with salt, pepper, lemon and olive oil.

Ahmed had great advice on local Tango classes and venues and when we decided we would prefer to watch the professionals rather than participate, he recommended and booked a great show called La Ventana which we thoroughly enjoyed.

If you are planning a stay in Buenos Aires and want to enhance your trip and get the most out of every day there, as well as stay in a beautiful Bed & Breakfast that was more like staying with friends, then I would highly recommend Tesorito.

After flying all night we arrive at Tesorito tired and out of sorts. Fernanda greeted us and showed us around and we felt like we had entered the home of an old friend. About the place, the layout is wonderful, it is in a great location, very accommodating, the best breakfast in Argentina (out of 16!) and very clean. The hosts were about as warm and caring as a people can be. They made for a truly relaxing time. Please don't hesitate to stay here. The photos are accurate.

Stayed at Tesorito B&B 2 nights at the beginning and 2 nights at the end of my trip to Argentina in November and felt immediately at home in this charming place. Fernanda and Ahmed were perfect hosts and really friendly and helpful. The room is in a lovely apartment with fine decorations and also a small courtyard if you want to relax outside. The bedroom itself is big and very comfortable with a high ceiling, fridge, safe and plently of cupboard space and the bathroom is also very well equipped.
The location was ideal for me - very close to a metro station and convenient for both Palermo, Recoleta and also the centre of the city. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby but the apartment itself is set back from the road so is very quiet.
Finally, I have to mention Fernanda's superb breakfast, the very best by far that I had in Argentina - eggs, cold meats, yogurt, fruit, fresh rolls and bread and delicious coffee. Absolutely amazing! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting a "home from home" in Buenos Aires.

Situated in Barrio Norte, 20 mins stroll away from Palermo and Recoleta, 3 mins away from the nearest metro station, numerous buses downtown and beyond
2nd star: Apartment. Quiet ground floor unit looking out into a beautiful courtyard. Fernanda loves art and it shows in the details of the apartment, full of adorable vintage touches.
The B&B is a tiny one with only 2 rooms. Our ensuite room was huge, with a good bathroom. The amenities such as bathrobes and regular sized hairdryer were much better than regular B&B standards.
In Argentina, hotel breakfasts range from miserly (a medialuna and coffee) to adequate (with additional juice and some spreads). Tesorito's was an exception, generous to the point of excessive if we ate everything. Every morning, we would have a basket of medialunas, bread, cheese, ham, freshly scrambled eggs (cooked only when you wake up), coffee, juice, yogurt and even a fresh fruit cup! Suffice to say we were never hungry when we left.
Last but not least, Ahmed and Fernanda were great proprietors, friendly without being intrusive, helpful, resourceful and genuinely nice people working hard to ensure we had a good stay in Buenos Aires. They had lots of guidebooks on hand, and would through casual conversations help us craft our daily itinerary, complete with bus and train information. When we didn't have coins to take the bus, Fernanda just gave us all her change and insisted we take it. Lastly, we asked them to help us source transportation options to Estancia Villa Maria, which was about 60 kms away from BA. And while initially thought they would just give us the number of some remises, they personally researched multiple options (public and private transport), then called and checked with multiple vendors to find us the best price. That would be more than I would have done for myself!
Tesorito is not a luxury hotel, but you'll definitely get your money's worth!

We so enjoyed our stay at Tesorito. Fernanda and Ahmed are very warm and so accommodating and helpful in making arrangements and suggestions. The breakfasts were delicious ham, cheese, buns fresh fruit etc. The rooms are lovely and the patio is a real treat. It was so nice to come home and relax there after sightseeing. The area was great and very easy to get around. We didn't take the subway but between walking, buses and taxis we had no trouble seeing the city. Would recommend this B&B to anyone.

While looking for lodging in Buenos Aires, we intially began our search via our various travel books (Frommers, etc...). After deciding that the options were either too expensive or too "American," we opted to find a bed & breakfast that could serve our 6-day stay.

Tesorito was the perfect find. We would most definitely stay at Tesorito again. And we will be recommending it to anyone we know that is traveling to Buenos Aires!

Tesorito is located in Barrio Norte, close to the Palermo district and walking distance from the Recoleta cemetary. The nearest subway line is the "D" line, which services transportation directly downtown.

We stayed in the large room on the first floor; there is a smaller room with two twin beds adjacent to the master room. Normally, these rooms share a bathroom, but there was no one staying in this second room. If you really need a private bathroom, you can probably just book the second bedroom - the rates are good enough that it will still be less expensive than some other options in the city.

There is a second flat upstairs, although we didn't see it. We did have breakfast twice with a couple that was staying upstairs, but otherwise we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

The B&B is well-appointed in a modern, artistic, and aesthetically pleasing style. Really terrific furniture and a great sense of design. The bed and pillows are comfortable, and you can really relax in the furniture. The large ceilings give a sense of space, and there is a ton of natural light pouring in.

The main sitting room is gorgeous and you have access to an outside patio with walls high enough to give you a real sense of privacy in the city.

The master bedroom features a queen/king sized bed, sitting chair, desk, television and DVD player. There is also a small bookshelf with various paperback books that people have left along the way. There is also a window A/C unit, critical if you're staying during the Argentine summer.

The bathroom is spacious, with a sitting tub. Water pressure and temperature is great (and consistent) - something that we did not find in other hotels around the country. Argentine uses 220V A/C, so you will need a plug adapter, and possible a voltage step, depending on your use.

Our hosts - Ahmed and Fernanda - were really amazing. Ahmed set out a terrific breakfast for us every morning, featuring fresh fruit, medialunas, jellies/jams, juices, coffees. Each night before we went to bed we would leave him a note asking him for breakfast at a certain time. That's invaluable considering you never know how late you'll be out each night! Fernanda is an artist, so on a few occassions we found her painting in the sitting room - we happen to be big arts-supporters, so this was a special treat.

They were also great with email contact. This was especially useful, as we had our BlackBerry with us, and could communicate any questions to them while we were out during the day.

In comparison to a conceirge service at a larger hotel, Tesorito will help make reservations and give recommendations on what to do with your time in Buenos Aires. If you're connecting to other itineraries in Argentina - as we were - they were happy to make calls to ensure that things were still on track.

There is daily maid service to change the linens. And as we foudn at many places in Argentina, the housekeeping staff will pick-up and fold all of the clothing you (accidentally) leave on the floor.

In the interest of full-disclosure, here are a few things that are worth mentioning:

- At this time, Tesorito only takes cash. This caused a little anxiety in the booking phase, as there isn't a way to hold the reservation with a credit card. However, we had no issues with our reservation, and even stayed in two stints, at either ends of our trip. They take USD, Euros, and pesos.

- There is no phone in the room. If you need someone to contact you, you'll have to route them through the main number.

- WiFi is available, although we didn't use it. They have several laptops to use in case you want to check your email, etc... We printed out boarding passes and such through their printer.

- There is no safe or lockbox in the rooms. It is worth noting that we never felt worried about any of our valuables being taken. There isn't a lot of traffic through the B&B, so it does have a level of control that a large hotel doesn't.

- The individual rooms do not lock. You are given a key to the buiulding main entrance and the B&B entrance. But the rooms themselves do not have keys. This follows from the above point. Again, this is not a 150 unit hotel with card-swipe doors. Tesorito is like staying with a good friend. We had nothing to worry about during our stay.

--end--

This may be the best B&B I ever stayed in. Located a block away from a metro station and a bus station (bus 152), in the middle of Recoleta, this is a real find. Because it is small, you get full use of the living-room, the dining-room and the patio besides your own large bedroom. Television and CD player in the living-room, other TV in the bedroom. Beautiful colors, cheerful paintings painted by hostess Fernanda, and the leafy patio makes you feel as if you were in the countryside. Ahmed and Fernanda are warm and lively people. Ahmed, born in Algeria, is fluent in 4 languages, and Fernanda, born in Argentina, has a gift for design.
Last point: their breakfast is SO good! They serve orange juice made from sweet squeezed oranges. Absolutely delicious!
A tip: Don't look for good restaurants near by, we did not find any. Just take a taxi to Palermo Viejo (around $5) where good restaurants abound, and where the neighborhood is much more inviting for a stroll.

Stayed here for three nights in November 2010, and enjoyed every minute of it. The patio was lovely, as were our hosts, Ahmed and Fernanda. They provided us with good restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, and offered to arrange transportation and make reservations as needed. Would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Buenos Aires.

Tesorito is a wee gem in Racoleta. It truely is somewhere to call home. We booked for 3 days and ended up staying 6. Fernanda is truely a beautiful hostess and will do absolutely above and beyond to make your stay extra special. Ahmed is also more than willing to help make your stay perfect with suggestions on transport , restaurants, cafes etc. We were truely sorry to leave and would happily return to stay there. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. It really is the only place to stay in Buenos Aries

"There are just two rooms, I believe, and the other one was not occupied. My room looked out on the large patio with a fish pond and bubbling water feature.
