Doesn't have a nice flair. The toilets smelled piss all the time. It was a bit unclean, but the bed was ok. The reception and some of the dorms have separate entrances to the street. If you wanna get out, you need to ask at the reception to open the door, but if you wanna get to your room, you...

So, it's in a great location. The rooms are big. Some very friendly smiley staff. Main section of the hostel looked nice. Those are the positives. This is the second time we've stayed at this hostel - the first time being in 2012 and we were happy with it then, so decided to stay again. This time though, we were not...

The hostal is located in a great area and everything is easy to reach. The service is always nice and willing to help. Also the 6 bed or 10 bed rooms are not too small and rooms with air conditioning are available. Furthermore the terrace above is a quiet place to hang out or have a barbecue. The prices are...

I've been here for 3 nights, not bad considering the price, location is awesome, really close to downtown, the staff, indeed, is not very friendly, but is not rude either, it's a good hostal for people who are really traveling and just coming back to sleep, if you're exploring the city I DO recommend this place!!

Ok so we and my friend have travelled the world and staid in a lot of places that have been pretty shabby but we were paying under £5 so we couldn't complain! However this place was one of the most expensive places we have staid in Argentina and was possibly the worst! The women took us to our room which...

We spent 1 night here before deciding to move hostels. The breakfast was great, staff okay but the downstairs area and big dormitory were really dirty and we have been travelling 7months so our standards aren't super high. When it's raining there's no common areas and the place floods. They have cramped to many beds in the dormitory and the...

Me and my friends planned and payed to stay two nights in the hostel. The first night (during winter) even when we asked for blankets (the beds didn't have) they give as none. Also the first night part of the staff who apparently run the holtel with some other people had a party on the roof, just on the rooms....

This hostel is nice with interesting architecture and common areas. There were three of us and we stayed in a triple room with private washroom. The room was neat since it had two levels but the bathroom seeped a serious sewage smell, the ceiling looks to be plagued with black mold and being by the kitchen it was noisy with...

I only stayed here for one night, as I was leaving for Mendoza the next day. This hostel is in a great location in Saltelmo, a 5/10 min walk from Plaza De Mayo and there are bars and restaurants on the doorstep. I was there on a Saturday night, so the Saltelmo market was on the following morning and this...

Whilst the hostel is clean and the staff are nice, it doesn't take away from the fact that they let two local men into the Hostel and my ENTIRE RUCKSACK WAS STOLEN FROM MY BED! Then walked out pasted the girl on reception!! The hostel offered no compensation and the bewildered staff gave a flimsy apology at the time. The...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
